Olaf, a special needs dog looking for a forever home.

Olaf here for one last post this week. I want you to know that I love being around people, especially if they give me scratch behind my ears. Since I can’t hear I take my cues from watching you. But when I am sleeping or looking the other way it is important not to sneak up and startle me. Maybe you could try tapping a foot nearby to vibrate the floor enough to wake me or get my attention. Everyone in my new home must always remember this. With a little thought, consideration, and training (for both me and you), I can lead normal, happy life.

She is super people friendly and like cats. Meet Jasper a Blind Border Collie looking for an home.
Jasper is a full bred Border Collie purchased from a licensed breeder on a ranch in Idaho. Born 7/1/17. Parents are working dogs. Neutered, negative for heart worm, on heart worm/flee/tick prevention, up to date on vaccines including lime disease and bordatella. Completely blind from birth, no known cause. Negative for Border Collie eye anomaly, no history of blindness in parentage or siblings. Jasper navigates well considering his blindness . He loves fetch and hiking. Obedient and clever, super playful and energetic. Has some history of stranger anxiety and touch sensitivity, Normal for a dog without sight. This is improving substantially with consistent, calm, assertive training.

Please say a prayer for Smoke one of Oakleys Alumni. He is having a rough go of things due to feline herpes and glaucoma. Possible eye removal surgery in the future.
