This is Judge Louise Goldston.
You are watching her trespassing in someone's home, and threatening to arrest him if he records her doing it.
She is now fighting to get immunity in court for it.
This all started when Matthew Gibson and his ex-wife were in divorce court. Goldston was the presiding judge.
In the middle of the proceedings, Goldston suddenly ordered everyone to go to Matthew's home.
When they got there, Goldston announced she was going in, without a warrant. When Matthew reminded her she was breaking the law, Goldston threatened him.
Then Goldston, accompanied by Matthew’s ex-wife and the ex-wife’s attorney, among others, walked barefoot through Matthew's house, ordering Matthew’s ex-wife to seize DVDs, yearbooks, and pictures off the wall.
Some of these items didn’t even belong to Matthew’s ex-wife.
When Matthew tried to record the encounter, the judge threatened him with arrest.
(I've put a link to video of this incident in the comments)
Goldston knew that what she was doing was completely illegal, as did the officers who accompanied her.
She is now fighting for immunity for her actions.
We talk a lot about the problem of qualified immunity for police and other government agents, but what you may not know is that judges enjoy something called judicial immunity.
Like qualified immunity, there is no law that created judicial immunity. It was made up by judges out of thin air.
And just like qualified immunity, it protects government from its own laws.
The Institute for Justice is fighting in court to protect Matthew and stop Goldston from getting the immunity she's seeking.
This will not end until immunity for government ends.
Qualified immunity.
Judicial immunity.
Absolute immunity.
End it all.
