One week ago, I was re-elected to the Hudson School Board after a year off. I am grateful for the encouragement to pursue a seat and humbled by the broad support I received. Thank you to all my supporters locally especially to those that worked tirelessly towards my success. I want to thank the former Hudson students at and other Wisconsin colleges who voted, you certainly made a difference. During the 2022 Hudson School District Candidate Forum (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPGTiKott9k ) a question was presented pertaining to student mental health. The question about mental health and our children is more than just identifying early and connecting those in need with services. True primary prevention is going further than we do today and looking not only at the individual, but the systems and structures that influence and impact individual students. We need to go further to help our children which requires targeted district-wide investment in this area. If you agree - please LIKE & SHARE....

If you agree - please LIKE & SHARE... I have been asked, “What is important in a school board race if politics isn’t?” A school board race must always center around our children and balance the wants/needs of the entire community. Decisions must be supported by objective data, not subjective opinion. There should never be a place for partisan politics on any school board.

I have had conversations with a number of community members who are trades professionals or who have hobbies due to their hands-on "shop" exposure in high school. Our Career & Technical Trades Education “CTE” programming has been near/dear to my heart since before my start on our school board in 2015. Our bldg construction after our 2016 referendum success laid the foundation for our continued CTE efforts. My last year on our school board, we had 32 transcripted offerings with CVTC & WITC. Student enrollment in our business transcripted courses was 595. Total transcripted enrollment was 968; likely more now. We need to continue to invest in those students who have interests other than a four-year university. We need to provide hands-on opportunities for our young women and men in our STEM programs as well to learn beyond theory only.
