"If they can't buy it, don't supply it!"
Yesterday, YSAP and the Hudson Health Department partnered with 5 students from Hudson Public Schools Hudson High's SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) chapter, their advisor, and Hudson Massachusetts Police Department's School Resource Officer to conduct Hudson’s first Sticker Shock campaign!
Together, the group visited 3 local liquor stores and placed 1,000 stickers on packs of beer, seltzers, and other alcoholic beverages to help raise awareness about the dangers and legal consequences of providing alcohol to minors.
The Sticker Shock campaign is a youth-led prevention initiative designed to remind adults that:
đźš« Providing alcohol to anyone under 21 is illegal
🧠Alcohol can negatively impact the developing teen brain
❤️ We all play a role in helping keep our youth healthy and safe
A huge thank you to our amazing SADD students for taking the lead on this important effort, to their advisor and School Resource Officer for their support, and to the local businesses that partnered with us and welcomed the campaign into their stores.
Community prevention works best when we work together — youth, families, schools, businesses, law enforcement, and public health.
