Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that youth mental health matters. đź’š

Children and teens need support, connection, and trusted adults in their lives to help them build resilience and thrive. Checking in, listening without judgment, encouraging healthy routines, and helping youth access support when needed can make a meaningful difference.

If you are concerned about a child or teen’s mental health, consider reaching out to their pediatrician, school counselor, or another trusted mental health professional.

"If they can't buy it, don't supply it!"

Yesterday, YSAP and the Hudson Health Department partnered with 5 students from Hudson Public Schools Hudson High's SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) chapter, their advisor, and Hudson Massachusetts Police Department's School Resource Officer to conduct Hudson’s first Sticker Shock campaign!

Together, the group visited 3 local liquor stores and placed 1,000 stickers on packs of beer, seltzers, and other alcoholic beverages to help raise awareness about the dangers and legal consequences of providing alcohol to minors.

The Sticker Shock campaign is a youth-led prevention initiative designed to remind adults that:
đźš« Providing alcohol to anyone under 21 is illegal
🧠 Alcohol can negatively impact the developing teen brain
❤️ We all play a role in helping keep our youth healthy and safe

A huge thank you to our amazing SADD students for taking the lead on this important effort, to their advisor and School Resource Officer for their support, and to the local businesses that partnered with us and welcomed the campaign into their stores.

Community prevention works best when we work together — youth, families, schools, businesses, law enforcement, and public health.

Mental Health Awareness Mattersđź’š

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Every person deserves support, connection, and the reminder that they are not alone.

This month, the Hudson YSAP Coalition encourages our community to:
✨ Check in on friends and family
✨ Practice self-care without guilt
✨ Talk openly about mental health
✨ Reach out for help when needed
✨ Show kindness — you never know what someone may be carrying

Small conversations can make a big difference. Together, we can help reduce stigma and build a stronger, healthier community where everyone feels supported.

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. Call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Sharing this webinar opportunity from the Partnership to End Addiction. Do you ever wonder why teens behave the way they do? Come learn more about what the adolescent brain is designed to do and how to work with our youth to change behaviors and make healthy decisions.

Working with teens? This webinar can help change how you see behavior.

What if teen behaviors like risk-taking, impulsive decisions and emotional reactions were not considered problems to eliminate, but instead signals of how the adolescent brain is developing?

In this one-hour webinar, our experts explore the teenage years with the goal of helping anyone who works with young people understand why teens behave the way they do and how that knowledge can strengthen their work with both youth and their families.

Presented by Partnership to End Addiction's:
Molly Bobek, L.C.S.W., Vice President, Family and Adolescent Clinical Technology and Science (FACTS) and Cori Hammond, M.P.H, Senior Director, Prevention Services
