Hudsonville Community Fair is here! As we get ready to start Fair Week, we have some reminders that will help you to get in and out of the fairgrounds as quickly as possible each night.
NO PARKING AREAS: During Fair Week, we have temporary no-parking zones set:
Grant Street: No parking on either side of the street between 36th Avenue and 40th Avenue.
Park Avenue: No parking on either side of the street from the fairgrounds to Van Buren Street.
On the following streets, there is no parking on one side of the street, as marked:
-Green Avenue between the fairgrounds and Hughes Park.
-Lee Street: Between Green Avenue and Lawndale Avenue.
-Marlin Avenue: Between Barker Street and Van Buren Street.
-Curtis Street: Between Park Avenue and 36th Avenue.
-Barker Street: Between Park Avenue and 36th Avenue.
-Lawndale Avenue: From Creme Curls Bakery to Curtis Street (note that Lawndale Avenue from Curtis Street to Van Buren is a permanent no parking zone, both sides).
And, as always, there is no parking in front of any fire hydrant.
Despite what your GPS will tell you, the BEST way to get into the fairgrounds parking areas is via 40th Avenue. If the main lot is full, proceed to the North Lot, located on 40th Avenue across from Hughes Park. Bus service will be available most nights from the North Lot. Handicap Parking is available in the main fairground lot.
There will be some closures and redirection from approximately 5p until 11p each night:
-NO LEFT TURN from NB 36th Avenue to WB Grant Street. WB traffic will be directed to Van Buren, but can also turn at Barker or Curtis.
-No thru traffic EB on Grant Street from 40th Avenue, to accommodate bus traffic. No thru traffic WB on Grant Street from Park Avenue.
The great news is that the Hudsonville Fair has become a popular family destination. We have thousands of visitors that come from the Lakeshore, GR Area, West Michigan and around the State, and even neighboring states! Be patient, be helpful, be friendly, and show everyone why Hudsonville is a great place to live! We truly enjoy serving everyone in our community and the visitors that come during Fair Week. Watch out for us, and have a great time!
