At 11:01PM last night (7/28/26) the Hughson Fire Department (HFD) along with our mutual aid partners were dispatched to a commercial working structure fire on Quincy Rd. First arriving units found multiple agricultural dehydrators on fire along with the products they contained. Fire crews took and aggressive attack on the fire but due to the structural makeup of the containers it took approximately 90 minutes to fully extinguish the fire. Crews remained on scene for an additional 90 minutes doing mop up and overhaul. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The total response included 6 engines, 3 water tenders, 3 chief officers, Fire Investigator, AMR and TID. HFD would like to thank the following mutual aid partners for their support and hardwork last night. Denair FD, Keyes FD, Stanislaus Consolidated FD, Mountain View FD, FIU, AMR, TID and Turlock Rural FD who provided station coverage.

Hughson Fire Department would like to thank the crews from Modesto/Ceres Quint 18 and Stanislaus Consolidated Quint 22 for taking the time on June 25th to tour the Samaritan Village complex. As part of our auto and mutual aid agreements with these and other county fire agencies, having our mutual aid partners be more familiar with Samaritan Village is very beneficial should the need arise to call upon them for support and assistance. We would like to also thank the staff of Samaritan Village in assisting in today's tour and walk around.

❤️ Calling on the Hughson Community ❤️

A local family has experienced the heartbreaking loss of their home and belongings due to a recent house fire. One of the children is a player on our Freshman Football Team. They are currently staying in a hotel while they work through the difficult process of rebuilding their lives.

Many generous community members have already stepped up to help, but there are still needs for clothing, essentials, and everyday items for the family.

We will be accepting donations on Monday from 2:00 PM–4:00 PM at the Hughson Fire Department.

Clothing Sizes Needed:
• Baby: 18–24 months
• Boy: Size 6/7
• Men’s 38 pants, Adult Large shirts
• Size 32 pants, Adult Medium shirts
• Size 34 pants, Adult Large shirts
• Size 36 pants, Adult Large shirts
• women’s 3X
• womens. Large/XL

Items Needed:
• Clothing and shoes
• Toiletries and hygiene products
• Diapers and baby wipes
• Blankets and pillows
• Gift cards for groceries, gas, Walmart, Target, etc.
• Non-perishable food and snacks
• Household essentials

No donation is too small. If you’re able to help, your kindness will make a tremendous difference to this family during an incredibly difficult time.

At approximately 4:00 PM today, the Hughson Fire Department was dispatched to a working structure fire in the 2000 block of Fifth Street in Hughson.

Firefighters arrived on scene and quickly initiated fire suppression and overhaul operations to bring the incident under control and protect surrounding properties.

We would like to thank our mutual aid partners for their assistance and support during this incident. Their teamwork and dedication were instrumental in ensuring a successful response.
