🇺🇸 We Will Never Forget 🇺🇸

This morning, members of the Hughson Fire Protection District gathered at the 9/11 Memorial at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson to place flowers and pay tribute to those we lost 25 years ago today.

On September 11, 2001, our nation was forever changed. Today, we pause to remember the innocent lives lost, the firefighters, law enforcement officers, first responders, and countless others who answered the call—and the families whose lives were changed forever.

A special thank you to Lakewood Memorial Park for maintaining this memorial and providing our community with a place to gather, reflect, and remember the events and sacrifices of that day.

Twenty-five years have passed, but our promise remains the same:

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

This event kicks off NFPA Fire Prevention Week, so we’ll have lots of fun and educational fire safety activities for the whole family.

At 11:01PM last night (7/28/26) the Hughson Fire Department (HFD) along with our mutual aid partners were dispatched to a commercial working structure fire on Quincy Rd. First arriving units found multiple agricultural dehydrators on fire along with the products they contained. Fire crews took and aggressive attack on the fire but due to the structural makeup of the containers it took approximately 90 minutes to fully extinguish the fire. Crews remained on scene for an additional 90 minutes doing mop up and overhaul. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The total response included 6 engines, 3 water tenders, 3 chief officers, Fire Investigator, AMR and TID. HFD would like to thank the following mutual aid partners for their support and hardwork last night. Denair FD, Keyes FD, Stanislaus Consolidated FD, Mountain View FD, FIU, AMR, TID and Turlock Rural FD who provided station coverage.
