At approximately 4:00 PM today, the Hughson Fire Department was dispatched to a working structure fire in the 2000 block of Fifth Street in Hughson.

Firefighters arrived on scene and quickly initiated fire suppression and overhaul operations to bring the incident under control and protect surrounding properties.

We would like to thank our mutual aid partners for their assistance and support during this incident. Their teamwork and dedication were instrumental in ensuring a successful response.

Keyes Fire Protection District E40

For more than 30 years, the Hughson Volunteer Firefighters Association has proudly hosted a special lunch for Northern California children and families on their way to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation’s CHAMP Camp. Today, we were honored to continue that tradition by welcoming 15 campers, along with their parents and chaperones.

It is a privilege to support these incredible young people as they embark on a week of healing, friendship, and unforgettable memories. We wish all of the campers a wonderful and enriching experience at CHAMP Camp.

Hughson Volunteer Firefighters Training with New Fire Hose Equipment
Our dedicated Hughson Volunteer Firefighters are training tonight with a new style of fire hose. As fire hoses have a finite lifespan, we are in the process of replacing some of our older equipment to maintain the highest level of readiness.
A big thank you to Stanislaus Consolidated Fire for taking the time to demonstrate and train our team on this new hose system. Your support and expertise are greatly appreciated!

Hughson Fire would like to introduce you to our five new firefighters that graduated last week from the South County Fire Academy Spring 2026. This academy is 8 weeks long and provides the new hires their first initial training for the fire service. This academy is jointly hosted by Hughson, Keyes, Denair and Turlock Rural Fire Departments. Each of the total 22 graduates will now go onto their respective fire departments to continue their training and gather valuable experience. 🚒❤️ Today our Hughson firefighters made some special memories at Hughson Christian School’s annual Fun Run!
The crew had a great time introducing the kids to the tools we use every day and showing off Engine 39 up close. The smiles on those faces were priceless!
