Our second ever teepee day in West Philly's Parkside neighborhood was truly one to remember.

The event was a part of Viola Alley Connector, which "seeks to a create a place where residents and others can gather, share stories, share food, watch movies and reconnect as a community." They definatelly pulled it off!

The afternoon was a kaleidoscope of culture and Philly pride. A drill team, an African dance ensemble, and acoustic musicians performed footsteps away from our doorflap.

Philly Teepee was enjoyed most by neighborhood kids as a place for playing games and storrytelling.

Thanks to the event's organizers for having us! We'll be back again anytime you like!

We're heading to the Parkside neighborhood in West Philly THIS SATURDAY as part of the Viola Alley Connector Event.

We'll be just a couple blocks off Philly Free Streets so make the teepee your starting point for a great day of strolling.

We still need volunteers to help set up and staff the teepee. Please message if interested.

Philly Teepee awoke from its winter hibernation this Memorial Day weekend with quite a bang.

We found a teepee-sized clearing at the center of a bed of ferns at a site near Huntingdon, PA and set 'er up. While we were pitching Philly Teepee some tree branches got caught in the poles, which make for a green roof of sorts and some nice foliage hanging down on the inside. It rained on Sunday but the inside stayed nice and dry. Camping under the stars in an 18 foot tall teepee. It's pretty great.

We're looking forward to public teepee days across Philly this summer! Direct message us to request a teepee day in a park near you or to volunteer!

A very special THANKS to Ignite Philly for inviting Philly Teepee's Founder and Executive Director Extraordinaire, Philip Green, to speak at Ignite Philly #16.

With 20 slides in just 5 minutes, Philip told the story that inspired the Philly Teepee, how the project is spurring community in neighborhoods across Philly and how folks can get involved.

Philly Teepee's very own Founder and Executive Managing Director Extraordinaire, Philip Green, will be presenting at Ignite Philly on 11/23/2015.

He'll be talking about where the idea for the project came from, how he made the teepee from scratch, and how we can all do something to inspire community in Philadelphia.

Ignite Philly is like a rapid-fire TED talk floating in a bath of sudsy beer. It's inspiring and fun!
