Now you're going to send something across Parent Square? I knew about this days ago. Thank you to who posted it in one of the news pages.

This is the prime example of things that have parents upset. Yes, if it's underutilized, then other options need explored, but stopping the service like some parents have said and waiting days to put a notice is NOT the solution.

This should have been communicated better and sooner. Parents and Guardians should have been notified via Parent Square that this was even a possibility. Earlier notifications make it easier for people to plan around. When stress is added to the parent's and guardians, like this situation does and did, it normally indirectly effects the children.

Back to school is officially here. Everyone raising kids that are in the house all day with their children are jumping for joy, teachers waking up early to be fully prepared for the first day, and students not wanting to get up out of bed and get ready for school. A ritual that happens every year.

Before I go on to something I do want to say, I pray God is with our students and staff every day at all times.

Now, parents and guardians of students and staff at Salamonie Elementary School have every right to be frustrated.

People with access to powerschool, and that get letters from the principal, get a notification about the AC. Our students and staff are currently in a building, on what's supposed to be the hottest day this week, with growing humidity, with no AC.

Now, they did say they will use fans, water bottles, and open windows but when the day is supposed to be 85 degrees and increasing humidity, how much does that really help? After all, fans just push air around, they don't cool the surrounding air or reduce the humidity.

I will be looking into it, and I want to see the contract with the company working on the AC. I want to see when the start and end dates were supposed to be.

I realize things happen that push dates back. I understand unexpected things happen. This however, is a prime example of, our students and staff deserve better.
