Today marks the first day of , and each Wednesday, we are going to focus on some of the WVGOP’s Leading Ladies.
Today, we’re going to introduce you to the Current President Pro Tempore of the West Virginia Senate, Senator Donna Boley of Pleasants County.
Did you know that in 1991 and 1992, Senator Boley was the only Republican in the State Senate? It’s True!
Senator Boley was Born and Raised in Tyler County, and has been involved with community service since she was in the second grade, helping collect scrap metal for World War 2. After Graduating High School, Senator Boley worked as a secretary at the Union Carbide plant in Pleasants County. Senator Boley first entered politics in the early 1960s, serving on the Pleasants County Republican Executive Committee, and was elected Chair in 1978, a Position she still holds today. In 1985, Then-Governor Arch A. Moore appointed Boley to fill the seat vacated by Sam White. Senator Boley was re-elected in 1986, and in Every Election since then! Thank you for your service, Senator Boley!
