đź’™ June has been a heartbreaking month for Texas first responders. Three heroes lost their lives in separate traffic-related line-of-duty incidents while serving their communities.

Trooper Sergio Romero, Officer/Fire Chief Charlie Woodard, and Deputy Erika Serrato were all killed in separate traffic-related line-of-duty incidents.

None of them were involved in a pursuit.

They were simply doing what they had sworn to do—protecting others.

One was working a traffic stop.

One was directing traffic.

One was helping at a crash scene.

They were serving the public... and they never made it home.

The Move Over Law isn't an inconvenience. It's a lifesaving responsibility.

When you see flashing emergency lights, tow trucks, TxDOT crews, firefighters, EMS personnel, or law enforcement on the shoulder:

➡️ Move over if you can safely do so.
➡️ If you can't move over, slow down.

Those few seconds may not seem important to you.

But they could mean everything to the person standing just feet away from passing traffic.

Every deputy. Every police officer. Every state trooper. Every firefighter. Every EMS provider. Every tow operator. Every roadside worker.

They all deserve to go home at the end of their shift.

Please don't let another family receive the phone call that changes their lives forever.

đź’™ Slow down. Move over. Save a life.
