“If you care, leave it there.”

This time of year, it’s common to come across young wildlife, fawns tucked in the grass, baby birds on the ground, ducklings wandering near water, and more. It can be really tempting to step in, but in most cases, the best thing you can do is simply give them space.

What might look like an abandoned animal is often just mom nearby, watching and waiting for the right moment to return. Human interference can unintentionally cause stress or even separate them for good.

A reminder that The Outdoor Campus–Sioux Falls does not take in baby or injured wildlife, but we’re always happy to help you figure out what you’re seeing.

We will be opening a little late today 5/12. We have a track meet here in Huron that started at 10am. One of our events is already done and we only have one other event our girls are competing in. So we are hoping we will be done and open by noon! Thank you for your understanding!!!

With another holiday week, kids being home from school, practices during the day, a couple sick ones, and maybe just needing a little break.....we decided to stay closed this week. We will resume normal business hours January 6th 11am-5pm. We appreciate all of the support we recieve, our customers, and the opportunity to help people and support our community. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with those most important to you. Ad, we wish you a Happy New Year!!! See you in 2026!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳

With this Christmas week being a busy one for many people including our family, today 12/23 will be our only day open this week! We will be open till 5pm. Then we will be spending some quality time with our family! Come get your last minute shopping in! We hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas with the people you love!! We have a disabled mom and daughter who have moved into their own apartment and are in need of a couch and a recliner as mom has to elevate her feet often. Beds, bedding, kitchenware ect has been handled already but looking to get them places to sit. Message here or my personal messenger Stephanie Paye. Thank you so very much!!

As most of you know; Huron area Hope and Blessings depends on our thrift store income to support those in need in our community. We are facing very uncertain times and we need your help!! We don't ordinarily ask for monetary donations but we are in need of them now. We do not have space for a food pantry so we generally purchase groceries in person for those in need. If you can donate please consider now to be the time!
