The Huxley Fire & Rescue Department is made up of a wide variety of people that are your neighbors, friends, and/or relatives. We could be your electrician, plumber, nurse, attorney, mailman, contractor, mechanic, dispatcher, teacher, custodian, garbageman, or work at any other job for our livelihood. Our First Responders participate in twice-a-month trainings and exercises to keep their skills sh
arp in stressful situations. We could be called out to assist you at any time, day or night. When your call comes during a family meal, on a weekend, a school event, or a special holiday, we come to your aid, without hesitation. It is what we are trained to do, and we do it without question. We currently have 23 dedicated volunteers and an ambulance service, which many neighboring communities do not have. We are fortunate to have these volunteers providing essential fire and medical services to the residents of Huxley and Story County.
