‼️Lake Tahoe Boaters ‼️

The Sand Harbor boat launch is scheduled to open for the season this Friday, May 1, 2026. However, due to storm damage from an April weather event, the launch docks have been removed from the water for repairs and will not be available at this time.

The boat launch itself will remain open and operational, but boaters should plan accordingly and be prepared for no dock access or tie-up area while launching and retrieving vessels.

We are working to return the docks to service as quickly as possible. Updates will be shared once repairs are complete.

Love Sand Harbor State Park? Let’s make it sparkle!

Join us Wednesday, April 22, 2026 (EARTH DAY!), for our annual Shoreline Sweep. This special volunteer event is your chance to help prepare the park for the busy summer season, be part of America’s 250th anniversary, and enjoy a day at one of Tahoe’s most iconic beaches... for free!

The service project runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., so plan to arrive early for check-in. We’ll provide all the tools you need, along with snacks, water, and a commemorative t-shirt to take home.

Volunteers are encouraged to register in advance at parks.nv.gov/events or through the link in our bio to guarantee a t-shirt and snacks. Supplies will be available while they last for walk-up participants.

This service project is funded by MGM International with support from Travel Nevada and Nevada Volunteers.

We’re looking for Seasonal Park Aides and Beach Patrol Lifeguards to join our team! Spend your days outdoors at the lake, meet new people, gain hands-on experience, and help create long lasting memories for our park visitors.

- Flexible schedules (40 hrs/week) with available benefits
- Work in one of Nevada’s beautiful state parks
- Starting at $17.02/hour
- Park Aids will assist with maintenance, visitor services, fee collection & more
-Beach Patrol will assist with visitor safety, water rescues, operating personal watercraft & more

It's national Take A Walk Outdoors Day. Pack up the family, bundle up tight, drive safe and enjoy a nice long walk in nature. The East Shore Trail is a perfect place to enjoy the view of the lake. Just make sure to be careful on your walks today, even though most of the snow has melted out, icy walkways can catch you by surprise.

Good morning everyone,

We will be replacing parts of our water utility infrastructure today and have a scheduled water outage at Sand Harbor that is expected to last all day.

As a result, all bathrooms located inside park boundaries will be closed today, Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Bathrooms at Memorial Point will be unaffected, and will remain open and accessible.

We have portable restrooms inside the park located in front of the Visitor Center.

All park entrance fees are required to be paid at our self pay station.

We apologize for the inconvenience.
