Early voting has begun. Here’s a look back at some of the campaign. Thank you to everyone. My hope is that I have done enough to earn your vote.

As we get closer to Election Day, tensions are rising and some people are getting nervous. Unfortunately, that can lead to some pretty classless behavior.

Stealing or damaging campaign signs is not only disrespectful to the candidates and the supporters who proudly display them, but also to the election process itself.

Please keep an eye on your signs over the next couple days. If your sign is stolen or damaged, and you capture it on a doorbell or security camera, please save the footage and contact us.

We will pursue appropriate legal action against anyone identified as responsible.

We believe in earning support through leadership, ideas, and a vision for the future, not through intimidation or vandalism.

Let’s finish this campaign the right way. Thank you to everyone who continues to stand with us!

Vote Larry Shelton for Kenton County Sheriff on November 3rd.

A Leader for Today. A Vision for Tomorrow.

As we begin to wind down our campaign efforts, we still have a few things left on the agenda!

First, I’ll be speaking at the Optimist Club meeting at Peewee’s Place tomorrow at noon. I always appreciate the opportunity to meet with members of our community, share my vision for the Kenton County Sheriff’s Office, and hear what matters most to them.

We’re also continuing to install campaign signs from our existing list. If you requested a sign and we haven’t gotten it installed yet, please reach out and let us know. And if you’d still like a sign, there’s time to get one!

We also have a few campaign T-shirts remaining, so let us know if you’d like one.

Remember, early voting begins Thursday.

I would be honored to earn your vote for Kenton County Sheriff on November 3rd.

A Leader for Today. A Vision for Tomorrow.

Tick Tock the clock is winding down.

As election day quickly approaches it’s almost time to decide who will lead the Kenton County Sheriff’s Office for the next four years.

If you’ve been following our campaign from the beginning, you know we have consistently shared our vision for the future and, just as importantly, the plan to make that vision a reality.

We don’t believe in maintaining the status quo simply because it’s familiar. We believe in moving forward, preparing for the challenges ahead, developing our people, and making sure the Sheriff’s Office remains accountable to the citizens it serves.

Leadership isn’t just about what you promise. It’s about having the experience, the vision, and the plan to get the job done.

As Election Day approaches, I ask you to take a closer look at the candidates, consider their plans, and decide who is best prepared to lead the Sheriff’s Office into the future.

I’m asking for your vote on November 3rd for Kenton County Sheriff.

A Leader for Today. A Vision for Tomorrow.

Leadership is more than a badge. Experience, coupled with a vision and a plan to put that vision into action, is what it takes to build a Sheriff’s Office ready for the future.

My decades of experience as a retired Kenton County Police Captain, combined with equally extensive experience as a practicing Attorney, has placed me in a unique position to bring together my skills and those of my team to protect our communities with transparency and accountability.

I have remained consistent and committed to the plan I have shared since we began this journey. My team and I have already begun the groundwork to put that plan into action so we’re ready on day one.

A Leader for Today. A Vision for Tomorrow.

Another busy week campaigning for us, on Monday of this week I had the opportunity to address the South Kenton County Citizens Group and share my vision for the future of the Sheriff’s Office. It was great to hear from other candidates running for State Representative Seats, as well as my opponent in the Sheriff’s race.

I’m truly grateful this campaign leading up to the general election has remained gentlemanly and focused on giving voters a choice.

If you would like to hear directly from both candidates, both speeches are available on my website completely uncut. I encourage everyone to take the time to listen to both and compare our visions, and decide for yourself who best represents what you want for your next Kenton County Sheriff. Link to the website is in the comments section.

This election is about the future of our Sheriff’s Office and the community we serve. I look forward to continuing to share my vision with you.

Safer Schools Start With Preparation.

I’m sure many of you have heard about the fi***rm discovered in a student’s locker in Boone County. School officials and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded, and the situation was resolved without incident.

This is a reminder of why a proactive approach to school safety matters. My plan for Kenton County includes a specialized K-9 trained to detect gunpowder residue, which could provide another tool to help identify potential risks.

We can’t prevent every threat, but we can take steps to be better prepared. I believe in identifying risks before they become emergencies, not simply reacting after the fact.

It was a marvelous evening at my parish, St. Cecilia Church in Independence, serving our community at the Bluegrass and Barbecue event.

Between cooking and getting food out to everyone, I had the chance to enjoy some great conversations with the folks who came out. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the evening and spending time together.

A big thank you to everyone who helped put this event together and those who came out to support it.

It’s always a pleasure to be part of our community.

The future of the Sheriff’s Office starts with the decisions we make today.

Over the past several months, we’ve spent a lot of time being engaged in the community, knocking on doors, meeting families, listening to concerns, and hearing what people want from their Sheriff’s Office.

These conversations matter. They’re a reminder that this campaign is about more than an election. It’s about building an office that serves our communities, prepares for tomorrow’s challenges, supports its deputies, and makes responsible decisions with taxpayer dollars.

That’s why I’ve stayed consistent with my vision, on safer schools, modern law enforcement tools, transparency, and planning for the future.

The goal is simple: an office that’s ready to serve today and prepared for the years ahead.

A Leader for Today. A Vision for Tomorrow.
