Firefly Children and Family Alliance recognizes the inherent value of all individuals. For more than 185 years, we’ve helped Hoosiers overcome hardship. Over the years, our organization combined forces with other nonprofits to broaden our reach and make a larger impact. In 2021, Children’s Bureau and Families First, two of Central Indiana’s most respected nonprofits, merged to become Firefly Child

ren and Family Alliance. Our programs and services include child abuse prevention, home-based services, youth placement and recovery services.

Riding toward independence! 🚗

After aging out of foster care and moving into her own apartment, Menajia faced a major barrier to independence when the vehicle she purchased with her savings stopped working after just one month. Without reliable transportation, she relied on expensive rideshare services to get to work and struggled to save for another vehicle.

Through the National Auto Body Council, Menajia was nominated by Firefly to receive a refurbished vehicle! 🚙

Moving forward, she will be able to maintain employment, pursue her education, and continue building a stable future. With additional support from Firefly for registration and insurance, this gift provides more than transportation—it provides opportunity, independence, and a path forward! Thank you to everyone who made this day possible! 🚘 ✨

Up & Up baby wipes sold at Target have been voluntarily recalled after testing identified the presence of Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli bacteria.

These bacteria can cause serious infections, particularly in newborns, infants, young children, and people with weakened immune systems. Reported symptoms include skin irritation, eye irritation, and infections. In severe cases, the bacteria may spread into the bloodstream and lead to life-threatening conditions such as sepsis or pneumonia.

If you purchased one of the recalled products, check the manufacturing date before using it:
🔵Fragrance Free Baby Wipes: Manufactured between November 7, 2025, and May 5, 2026
🟢Fresh Cucumber Scented Baby Wipes: Manufactured between December 29, 2025, and December 30, 2025
(Note: Manufacturing date can be found printed on the back of the packaging, in a MMDDYYX/XX format)

If your wipes match the recall, stop using them immediately and return them to any Target store for a full refund. If you or your child experience symptoms after using the recalled wipes, contact your healthcare provider.

It’s Older Youth Services Independence Week! 🌟

Older Youth Services provides individualized support to youth transitioning out of foster care.

Our program is committed to helping older youth cultivate the skills needed to successfully navigate adulthood, focusing on their specific needs as they prepare to transition out of foster care.

OYS assists participants in setting personalized goals based on their unique circumstances. Support areas include employment, education, financial literacy, physical and mental health, daily living skills, housing, and strengthening individual support networks!

Join us this week as Indiana Older Youth Service programs across the state hold space to empower young people 💙
