Today, Officer Ryen Millsap (Badge #254) and his fellow recruits of ILEA Basic Class 239 are participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Indiana.

We are proud of Officer Millsap and all five squads for taking part in this inspiring tradition that supports such an incredible cause. Best of luck to everyone participating today!

Enjoy an evening of community, conversation, free swimming, free food, giveaways, and family-friendly activities while getting to know the officers who proudly serve our community.

This free event is open to everyone, and we look forward to spending the evening with you. We hope to see you there!

As July comes to a close, we’re proud to share July’s adoption board, a wonderful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together for animals in need.

Every name on this board represents a dog or cat that found a loving home and a fresh start.

We’re honored to continue partnering with the Vincennes Animal Shelter to help these incredible animals get the visibility they deserve.

Thank you to everyone who adopted, shared our posts, or encouraged others to visit the shelter. Your support is helping change lives, one adoption at a time!

Here’s to seeing even more names added to next month’s adoption board!

Party at the Pavilion | Back to School Event 📚

Party at the Pavilion is back! Join us on Sunday, August 2nd from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Riverfront Pavilion, 102 N. 2nd Street, for an afternoon of fun as we celebrate the start of a new school year. ✏️🎒

Children ages 5–17 can enjoy free haircuts provided by licensed barbers and cosmetologists, along with free school supplies, personal care items, food, and opportunities to connect with local community organizations. Best of all, everything is completely free!

We invite all Knox County families to stop by, enjoy the activities, and help kick off the school year with the community. We look forward to seeing you there! 👋

🐾 𝐕𝐏𝐃 𝐏𝐄𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊 🐾

Meet EJ, a 5-year-old pup who’s looking for a patient family willing to give him the time he needs to shine. While EJ may be a little reserved when meeting new people, once he gets to know you, his playful, energetic personality quickly comes to life.

EJ loves a good game of fetch, enjoys going for walks, and takes pride in keeping his kennel clean. He would do best in a home that understands the importance of slow introductions and can provide him with the patience and consistency he deserves. EJ would need a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs before adoption, and a home without cats is recommended. His compatibility with children is currently unknown.

After spending 11 months waiting at the shelter, EJ is more than ready to find a loving family to call his own. If you think you could be the fresh start this deserving boy has been waiting for, stop by the Vincennes Animal Shelter to meet him. Together, we can help EJ find the forever home he deserves. 🐾

We would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and fellow officers of Town Marshal Fisher, as well as the entire Lynn Police Department, Randolph County, and the community he faithfully served.

Today, we remember a life dedicated to protecting others and honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment that defined his service. The loss of a law enforcement officer is felt far beyond the boundaries of a single community, it is shared by the entire law enforcement family.

Please keep Marshal Fisher’s loved ones, his brothers and sisters in blue, and all those grieving this tremendous loss in your thoughts and prayers. May we never forget his service, his sacrifice, and the legacy he leaves behind.

National Night Out 2026 — Come Join Us! 🚔

National Night Out is right around the corner, and we would love to see you there! Join us Tuesday, August 4th, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Rainbow Beach in Gregg Park for an evening of community, connection, and family fun.

Come spend time with our officers while enjoying free swimming, free food, giveaways, and activities for the whole family!

National Night Out is a great opportunity for us to step outside of our everyday duties, visit with the people we serve, and continue building the positive relationships that make Vincennes such a special community.

This event is completely free and open to everyone, so bring your family, invite your friends, and come enjoy the evening with us. We look forward to seeing you there!

We’re happy to help spread the word about another wonderful opportunity to support our community.

On Thursday, July 30th, Uplift Knox County will be hosting a lemonade stand at Byron Bobe’s Pizza House from 5:30–7:00 p.m., with proceeds benefiting Isaiah 117 House Knox County Indiana, and its mission to provide comfort, care, and support to children entering the foster care system.

A simple glass of lemonade can help make a meaningful difference for a child during an incredibly difficult time. We encourage our community to stop by, show your support, and help make a positive impact right here in Knox County. 🍋

🐾 𝐕𝐏𝐃 𝐏𝐄𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊 🐾

This week, we would like you to meet Sasha, a very special 6-year-old girl who is hoping for another chance at finding her forever home.

Sasha is blind, but that certainly hasn’t stopped her from having plenty of love to give. She is housebroken, wonderful with children, and finds comfort in her favorite stuffed animals.

Sasha needs to be the only pet in the home and experiences severe separation anxiety, making a patient and devoted family especially important for her.

If you have room in your home and heart for a loyal companion who simply needs a little extra love and reassurance, we encourage you to visit the Vincennes Animal Shelter and meet Sasha.
Sometimes the animals who need us a little more have the most love to give. 🐾

Sasha thoroughly enjoyed all the belly rubs and attention she received today!
