As founding co-chair of the Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Caucus, I'm always energized by the StartedUp Foundation's high school business pitch state finals — where the best student ideas from across Indiana compete for real funding to grow their businesses.
At Friday's state finals, I had the pleasure of talking for a few minutes about the importance of building an entrepreneurial culture in our schools. When we teach students to identify problems, think creatively, and take initiative, we're not just preparing future business owners - we're building the problem-solvers and innovators Indiana's economy needs. I also had the great honor of introducing Trinity Easley from Lawrence Township. Trinity's company, Iconic Looks, is tapping into a growing market in hair products. Her drive and professionalism made it clear she's going places.
A huge shout-out to Lawrence Township Schools and especially Mrs. Sonia Walker, whose commitment to building entrepreneurial skills in her students makes events like this possible. She is the definition of an inspiring teacher.

Thanks to everyone who came out for my annual tree seedling giveaway! Thanks also to the Binford Farmers Market for being a terrific host. It was great to talk with constituents about what matters most to them and to put a few more trees in the ground across House District 87. Every seedling planted today is a step toward cleaner air and a greener Indiana for generations to come. 🌱
