Over the past couple of months, mainly November, December, and into current, some account holders with the Inman-Campobello Water District (ICWD) have experienced bills that were much higher, or lower, than normal. Please know that the management of the ICWD understands the concerns and frustration this has caused within our district and have diligently worked to find the source of the issue and a solution. Unfortunately, this took longer than we’d like for it to have taken. We knew there was an issue before it appeared on social media, but the cause was not readily apparent.

Thankfully, the cause for the issue was found. Simply said, some meters within the ICWD had been over-read or under-read, causing bills to not be accurate. The source(s) of these errors have been eliminated. However, this correction just occurred last week and there is a possibility that for the next few weeks, more bills that have already been processed which are based on incorrect readings, will reach customers.

Of course, this issue does not apply to all high or low bills, there are accounts every month that may have experienced a service problem due to a leak, for example. Even with that in mind, if any customer has experienced any unexplained billing increase or decrease, please reach out to us by email at [email protected]. This is recommended due to the high call volumes we have and will allow us to better research the account and respond appropriately. Of course, if a customer can’t email us for any reason, they are certainly welcome to call us.

The ICWD does not plan to monitor social media and respond to comments. We just wanted to communicate on this medium what has happened to those interested since it was discussed here, and we will respond to every customer that contacts us directly. We sincerely apologize for the concern this has caused and thank you for any patience you can give us as the correction process gets completed.

Please be advised that we are aware of a water main break, due to a water line being hit, on Highway 11 between Walnut Hill Rd and Compton Bridge Rd. Crews are on site and working to repair the main and get services restored as quickly as possible.
