I consider myself lucky to have gotten to know Bonnie not only professionally but personally. I am proud to say that she is a friend.

Bonnie has exemplified service to others and setting aside political parties to fairly and legally perform her duties as our County Clerk.

I wish her well and am excited to her about her life after all these years of public service.

Thank you Bonnie for what you have done for the Residents and visitors of Grand Traverse County.

Green Lake Township Memorial Park is one of our hidden gems right in the open. Located on Karlin Road just a short distance North of Youker Road.

Did you know we had an airport?

CORRECTION: This Tuesday's Green Lake Township Board Meeting Begins at 5:30 PM

I was apparently a little too excited to see everyone and posted the meeting time a half hour early in my previous post. To avoid any further confusion, I deleted it and wanted to share the correct information.

The Green Lake Township Board of Trustees Meeting will be held this Tuesday at 5:30 PM at Golden Fellowship Hall, 9700 Riley Road.

This month's meeting includes the Public Hearing on the Township's proposed budget. Following the hearing, we expect to either adopt the budget at this meeting or schedule a special meeting if any final adjustments are needed.

I believe we have another solid budget proposal that our Supervisor, Clerk, and Treasurer have spent considerable time developing, with input from the Department Heads and our Trustees. Our goal remains the same: to provide the services residents expect while being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.

As always, residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and stay informed about the work being done on behalf of the Township.

We look forward to seeing you Tuesday at 5:30 PM.

A Quick Construction Update for Interlochen Corners

It's been a few days since the traffic pattern shifted as part of Phase 2 of the Interlochen Corners project, and I know many of you have experienced some delays and frustration while everyone adjusts to the new traffic flow.

Please keep in mind that the contractor is still actively working on the transition. Traffic control devices, lane markings, signage, and other elements are continuing to be adjusted and fine-tuned as work progresses. What you see today may not be exactly what the final traffic pattern will look like over the next several days.

As drivers become more familiar with the new routes and the remaining adjustments are completed, traffic should begin to move a little more smoothly. Construction projects of this size often require a short adjustment period whenever a major traffic shift occurs.

I want to thank everyone who has been patient, respectful of the construction crews, and considerate of the residents living along both the official and unofficial detour routes. Your cooperation helps keep everyone safer and allows the project to move forward as efficiently as possible.

If you're traveling through the area, allow yourself a few extra minutes, pay attention to the temporary signage, and remember that the crews are working hard to get this project completed.

Thank you for your patience and grace as we all navigate another phase of this important project. Stay safe and drive carefully. 🚧🚙🚦

Here is a fly over of the new traffic pattern. MDOT and their contractors are still working on completing the switch to phase two so there will continue to be some changes.

I did share a map the other day if you are wondering what has changed.

This is a good way to get a ticket. Using a parking lot to bypass traffic control devices. Here the driver is seen leaving the paved driveway of Blue Vase Books to get on to U.S. 31 because the road is blocked off at J. Maddy. (Rumor has it the ticket is about $300.00 when in a construction zone)

They have just made the shift!!!

You will not be able to get on U.S. 31 from J. Maddy. Barrels are up blocking the driveways for Blue Vase and the Gas station.

MSP said they will be active and writing tickets for using parking lots to avoid the barricades and other traffic control devices.
