Neighbors, connections and a little creativity — that’s what Creekside Sundays are all about. 🌳❤️🙌

Held on the third Sunday of each month, these Creekside Neighborhood Association gatherings give neighbors a chance to slow down, have some fun and get to know the people who live around them.

With support from the City’s Program for Improving Neighborhoods (PIN) Grant, neighbors have been able to bring these gatherings to life with food, activities, signage and more.

People still sit on the short black railing that borders the Pentacrest, and there’s even a bus where the current bus terminal is located. The cars certainly looked a lot different back then.

Today is National Dog Day! What better way to celebrate than by visiting the Iowa City Animal Care & Adoption Center and meeting your new best dog friend!

For those who missed it, last month, the shelter took in 32 starving dogs found in unsanitary living conditions. Thanks to the shelter and a large group of local organizations, they’re safe and now looking for new forever homes or foster homes. Learn how you can help at www.icanimalcenter.org.
