To all of my friends, family, supporters and believers in the vision of what the UP can achieve;
There is no denying that was a difficult loss to endure, a close race might have been a little more comforting but probably not.
I texted my family late last night after the trending was obvious the following and might hopefully serve as a guide for all of us;
“A life lesson to share;
If your not failing, your not trying.
I have no regrets, loved the journey, and am fully confident in Gods path for my life.
Never be afraid to step out on a limb for fear of failure as true failure only occurs when you stop trying.”
I am impassioned with a love for Gods country and the ability for all of us to serve the world in a way that reflects our values, protects our lands, promotes our resources and provides a prosperity for future generations. The senate was one path to accomplish all we are able to achieve but there is another....
I just haven’t thought of it yet.

I love the journey God has placed before me. The following was this mornings reading and put a smile on my heart and brought peace to my soul.

No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others. Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Remember, O LORD, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O LORD. The LORD is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way. The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands. Another casualty of life on the campaign trial zig-zagging countless miles across the beautiful Upper Peninsula.
Right before our scheduled 8:00 am departure for the UP fireman’s parade in Caspian we discovered a flat tire. Good fortune however produced perfect conditions in the garage rather than out on the highway during a rainstorm.
Four to five hours a day behind the windshield was destined to produce at least one tire casualty as well as one deer collision, one duck, one robin and many, many close calls.
