Joylani -

We are collectively heartbroken that we will never again get to hear your laugh, see your smile or take in the light that you radiated. Your deep love and gratitude for life and those around you were rare qualities, and ones that will continue to inspire so many of us to feel and love more deeply.

Your kind heart and generous spirit made you a perfect fit for Second Harvest, where you supported hundreds of nonprofits throughout Orange County. You understood our mission in a way not everyone could, and you were never shy about sharing your own story to help lift up and inspire others. And for that, we are so grateful.

You had a clear gift for connecting with people almost instantly - making people feel seen, heard and loved! That is clearly evident in the number of messages we have received from partners expressing their grief and love for you. There is no question that the impact you had on people, organizations, the Orange County community and the Second Harvest family will be felt for many years to come. Your contribution to Second Harvest has helped bring hope to so many - something we know brought you great happiness!

Thank you for all the genuine conversations, big smiles, belly laughs, twirls, shakas, warm hugs, hard work and memories we will never forget! Thank you for being you.

With love and aloha,
Your food bank family

Equity Residential So Cal teams spent an afternoon volunteering at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Irvine. EQR making a difference! Thank you for the opportunity Second Harvest!
I wanted to share this today becuase the holidays are coming. Also I have personally been donating 5 bucks a month on auto pay to this organization for about a year now. I decided to do this becuase a really important friend of mine passed away 2 years ago and he was homeless when he passed away. In conversation with him the last year of his life we talked alot about hunger on the streets and horrible it is to be hungry all the time. This is my way of honoring him and to be helpful. There is a ton of gratitude in doing this. GIve it a try! They will take a dollar a month. You would be suprised how much that helps.
Volunteers needed! You can make a difference!
