Mic check, one two...

Sound checks are underway for Daisy Chain Fields Music Festival taking place tomorrow, August 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Great Park.

We are monitoring sound levels to ensure they remain within the limits established by the City's noise ordinance. Concerns can be submitted via the City's Access Irvine app or at cityofirvine.gov/howcanwehelp.

Temporary closures of the Great Park will be in place Monday, August 24, through Wednesday, September 2, for the Daisy Chain Fields Music Festival, scheduled for Saturday, August 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

➡️ The Carousel, Balloon, and Visitors Center will be closed August 24 to September 2.

➡️ The entire Great Park is closed Saturday, August 29 (open only to guests attending the festival). This includes the closure of Wild Rivers and Great Park Ice.

There will also be several road closures in place.

Friday, August 28, at 8 p.m. to Sunday, August 30, at 8 a.m.

Saturday, August 29, at 6 a.m. to Sunday, August 30, at 1 a.m.

Additional street closures will be in place in the Great Park Neighborhood throughout the festival. Dash Passes for local access are available for residents who need to navigate the Resident Access Only streets August 29.

The Great Park Balloon will not be flying Friday, August 21, and may remain closed Saturday, August 22. We’ll provide an update when the Balloon is back in the air.

Please note that the Carousel, Balloon, and Visitors Center will be closed August 24 to September 2.

Take your Great Park visit to new heights! Soar up to 400 feet aboard the iconic Great Park Balloon and enjoy panoramic views stretching up to 40 miles on a clear day. Balloon rides are $10 for adults and free for children.

Great Park Balloon hours:

Thursday–Friday: 10 a.m.–3 p.m. and 7–10 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: 9 a.m.–3 p.m. and 7–10 p.m.

Continue the fun with a free ride on the Great Park Carousel, featuring vintage-inspired artwork and colorful animals.

Great Park Carousel hours:

Thursday–Friday: 10 a.m.–10 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: 9 a.m.–10 p.m.

Both attractions are closed Monday–Wednesday. Hours may vary on holidays, and balloon flights are weather permitting. For current flight information, call the Visitors Center at 949-724-6247. Learn more at yourgreatpark.org.

We danced the night away during our 55th Anniversary Homecoming Dance Party at the Great Park this past weekend!

Thanks to all who joined us as we celebrated this exciting milestone with dance moves, live music, DJ sets, and attire that paired perfectly for every era. We are grateful for you — our exceptional community that makes Irvine so special.

✈️ We are cleared for takeoff!

Much like the aircraft that once soared overhead, construction of the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum at the Great Park has taken flight. Vertical construction has begun on the more than 100,000-square-foot Marine Corps Aviation Museum.

Opening in early 2028, the museum will honor the Great Park's history as Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, which operated at this site from 1943 to 1999.

The new museum will serve as a homecoming for military aircraft originally stationed here, as well as a learning site for visitors of all ages.

Meet us on the dance floor Saturday, August 8. 💃🕺🪩 We’re celebrating our City’s 55th anniversary with a homecoming-themed dance party at the Great Park.

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a happy hour featuring food and drinks for sale, followed by an evening of dancing and celebrating Irvine's past, present, and future. Throughout the night, there will be live music, a DJ, and a Silent DJ.

Come dressed in homecoming attire inspired by your favorite year or era — think varsity vibes, 80s glamour, bold colors, and dance-floor classics from the 1970s, 1990s, 2010s, or any era that makes you smile.

Admission is free. Limited seating will be available at the event; guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Need some space? We got you! 🏢

Construction is starting soon on Aviator Hall — the former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro warehouse — located in the Cultural Terrace sector of the Great Park.

The 30,000-square-foot facility will be transformed into one of the largest stand-alone, flexible, indoor event spaces in Orange County, creating a dynamic gathering place for large-scale events, such as weddings, celebrations, community meetings, arts and cultural programming, and educational opportunities.

Other planned amenities for Aviator Hall include play spaces and lawn areas. Learn more about the construction and what else is planned for the Cultural Terrace at greatparkdevelopment.org.
