We had a great turnout today.Thank you to everyone that joined us this morning at our Quarterly Meeting to learn about our strategic new direction and updates from Tarrant & Denton County Commisonners Gary Fickes & Andy Eads. One of the key things that was discussed is how important East/West mobility is for the corridor. We need to start thinking about this now. There has been a huge amount of growth along the corridor (and there is going to continue to be growth), and with growth that means more people moving in and more people means more cars. In order to continue to be able to support this growth and stay mobile, we must increase the capacity of East/West roads.

State Representative Nicole Collier

Started my morning with a few of my fellow Tarrant County lawmakers at the Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition meeting. I truly enjoyed the dialogue. We discussed everything from bathroom legislation, the budget and transportation funding. While we still have a ways to go to stabilize funding for infrastructure in Texas, everyone agreed that it is an important issue that we must continue to address with future legislation to ensure that we have safe, viable roadways that are maintained on a regular basis. We just don't always agree on how to continue to do that. However, I do believe that it is important that we share our ideas and in the end make the best decision for everyday Texans.

Special thanks to City Council member Jungus Jordan for moderating this morning's panel. Thank you to Senator Kelly Hancock State Representative Matt Krause, State Representative Ramon Romero, Jr., State Representative Nicole Collier, State Representative Craig Goldman and State Representative Stephanie Klick for participating on the panel and sharing your insight on how we fared in the 85 legislative session, as well as discussing the future of Texas transportation. The takeaway is that everyone agrees that transportation is an important issue that needs to continue to be addressed with future legislation to ensure that the roads are usable, safe and maintained on a regular basis.
