Touch A Life is committed to providing holistic, customized childcare for the children in our programs, complete with regular medical and mental health assessments, art healing programming, and educational and vocational empowerment.

By equipping them with individualized care plans, high quality academic opportunities, and critical life skills, these children will grow into healthy, community-changing adults, fulfilling our mission to rescue, renew, and restore.

A huge part of that mission is giving our children the freedom and flexibility to play and simply be together. That manifests itself in plenty of outdoor games, pictured here!

"Why do I help? For the first time in my life, I saw how my non-glamourous skill set can make a difference in the lives of many. I can love kids thousands of miles away with the gifts I have been given. Being a part of breaking the cycle of systemic slavery has offered me a new sense of hope. We are all needed, and as each part does its work, beauty will flourish. Never diminish what you can give."

Have you heard of Arise Box? They offer boxes of ethically sourced products on a subscription basis. Pay $49 every 3 months and receive a box for every season of 4-5 handpicked items that support causes you care about and fit into your daily life. Every box you buy helps build care packages for human trafficking survivors.

We have an exciting partnership with Arise! Right now, our kids’ artwork are on the postcards that they send out in their boxes. Each box recipient will write encouragement to a human trafficking survivor on the postcard and send it back to Arise Box for them to include in a survivor care package!

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” Martin Luther King, Jr

Though we like to spend most of our time sharing the joys and triumphs of our children at the Care Center, we would be remiss to ignore the fact that they have been lifted out of a situation that still persists in Ghana as well as around the world.

But it doesn’t have to end there. There’s always something we can do to help, and sometimes it’s even as simple as spreading awareness that exploitation of human beings still happens. With this knowledge, we’re so thankful for the opportunity to wake up every day and watch the children at the Care Center flourish into the people they were meant to be despite past adversity.

We’re rescuing, renewing, and restoring the lives of the children at our Care Center. Will you join us? Learn how to here: https://touchalifekids.org/give/

Our children spend a lot of time learning in the classroom as well as working on art projects outside the classroom, so one of their favorite ways to relax is by playing sports. When they play soccer together, the children get to blow off steam and bond with friends.

At the Care Center, there’s room for each of our children to flourish into adulthood in a well-rounded way. This includes time to learn, time to study, time to play, time to be with each other, and time to rest. This well-rounded life was once impossible for them, but is now accessible to them every day - even in these difficult times we face as a global community.

Want to support these children as they rediscover life without exploitation? You can: https://touchalifekids.org/give/

Just another summer day at the Care Center! We can’t wait for the day when we don’t have to practice social distancing, and can welcome back visitors to our home in Ghana. Though there’s a long road ahead, we’re savoring extra time together right now, knowing that life won’t always be moving so slowly.

Today on the blog, Sarah Mast shares her "why" behind her work with Touch A Life!

"In 2018, I was blessed with the opportunity to travel to the Care Center when the agency I work for partnered with Touch A Life to assist with marketing efforts. Traveling has always been a passion of mine, so I was thrilled to have the chance to visit Ghana. Before my trip, I read many articles about what to expect in Ghana, gathering as much information as I could find on Touch A Life, and of course, I read Jantsen’s Gift (a memoir written by Pam Cope). What I experienced on this trip, however, was so much more than I had ever imagined."

There are friends, there is family, and then there are friends that become family.

At the Care Center, each of our children gets to reclaim that feeling of “family.” Not only do their house parents become nurturing parent figures, but the peers around them become their siblings.

Have you considered joining our Global Family monthly giving program? It is comprised of a group of amazing people who have been linked up with the children at our Care Center to support their daily needs and education on an ongoing basis. The beauty in this is the connection it forges between each supporter and child. You get to develop a friendship with someone across the world from you!
