Mount Liberty December 2024. A beautiful sunny day led to a nice, steep ascent. Mount Liberty is situated in the Franconia range, and connects directly to Mount Flume. The temperature was around 20°F but with no wind chill and a perfect blue sky, the sun beating down made it feel like summertime. A great day to knock one off the list.

Washington in October of 2025. A second go of the Huntington Ravine trail brought many visitors on this beautiful fall day, including rock climbers among the Pinnacle. Views as far as the eye can see with almost complete exposure, you can’t help but feel like an ant in the garden with the vastness of the glacial landscape surrounding you. Starting this trail rather early allowed for many opportunities to stop and take it all in, breath by breath. The sun shining, the breeze blowing, nothing and everything all at once. The perfect place to be in the moment

Starting at 3:00 am and finishing roughly around 2:15 pm the same day, this 22 ½ mile hike through the Lincoln Woods takes you up Bondcliff, Bond and West Bond mountain. With incredible 360° views and a dropoff that makes you wish you brought your squirrel suit, the views never cease to amaze you on this ridgeline hike that bags 3 peaks in the Whites.

Mount Eisenhower on a warm wet Saturday. Edmand’s Path is a direct shot that takes you up the mountain at a gradual incline. With the snow at the height it is, it can be somewhat difficult to follow the trail once you reach the subalpine zone, leading to Red Pond. From there, it’s a snap and one of the most rewarding views I have yet to see in the Presidential range

Mount Moosilauke:
Coming into the spring season, a subtle glimpse of the elemental change you can expect from the Whites. The split difference between fresh snowfall and fresh thaw on this hike was astounding, to say the least

Just across from Mount Pierce in the Crawford Notch, Mount Willey hosts its own unique range of mountains. The southernmost peak of the Willey range, its name was earned after Samuel Willey Jr. and his family were tragically taken by an August landslide in 1826. Life on the mountains is unforgiving and one of, if not the most important reason why we must respect them and the forefathers who made these trails traversable.

The one that started it all: Mount Pierce. Sitting above the heart of Crawford Notch, this is a widely popular entry level hike into the 4k 48, and serves as a gateway to the Presidential Range. With a little taste of the alpine zone before heading back to the shelter of the forest and some navigating terrain, this hike is the epitome of the White Mountains 🏔️
