We are grateful that Dallas ISD Police Department officer Justin Jones is recovering from a gunshot wound received while on duty today.

The Dallas ISD Police Department is grateful to share that Officer Justin Jones is in stable condition and continuing his recovery following today's incident.

Officer Jones demonstrated extraordinary courage and dedication in service to our community, while reflecting the values our department strives to display every day.

We are thankful for the overwhelming support from our community, our law enforcement partners, and everyone who has kept Officer Jones and his family in their thoughts and prayers.

We're seeking an experienced peace officer to serve as a Police Investigator in a role that combines criminal investigations, applicant background investigations, school security, and collaboration with district departments and law enforcement partners.

As a Police Investigator, you'll conduct comprehensive background investigations for police applicants, investigate criminal activity affecting the District, support campus security efforts, and work closely with local, state, and federal agencies to help maintain a secure learning environment. Your work will also include collaborating with district leadership on investigations, preparing cases for prosecution, and helping ensure our department continues to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Chief Sanchez brings more than 10 years of law enforcement experience and a steadfast commitment to keeping our schools safe. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and a genuine passion for serving others.

Since joining Gonzales ISD as Lieutenant, Chief Sanchez has worked alongside district leadership to strengthen campus safety, build meaningful relationships with students and staff, and help create a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment across our district.

As Chief of Police, she will continue leading with integrity, accountability, and a servant's heart—ensuring every student, staff member, and family feels safe, supported, and empowered to succeed.
