Jacksonville Breakfast Rotary Club

In case you were hoping to attending the flotilla on the New River tonight (Saturday, December 5, 2020), please know that the flotilla was recently cancelled by organizers.

It is with the deepest regret that we must announce the cancellation of our annual Christmas Flotilla scheduled for December 5. This would have been our 33rd annual flotilla.

We had hoped that our flotilla would provide some holiday normalcy and cheer to a year in which we have seen so many struggles and the cancellation of most of our other local annual holiday events. Unfortunately, the most recent Executive Order issued last week by the Governor put in place additional restrictions on outdoor events. Those additional restrictions, when implemented by local government officials, have made staging the flotilla impractical.

We know that so many of you look forward to the flotilla each year and include it in your annual holiday traditions. We promise that next year we will be back with the flotilla and it will be bigger and better than ever.

From all of us at the Jacksonville Breakfast Rotary Club, have a safe and Merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years.

Hello. I wanted to ask a favor if I may? We are still displaced from Hurricane Florence 2 years later. 6 of us are living in an RV. I know normally you wouldn't share links other than business-related. But I was hoping you could share this with your friends and family. We are desperately trying to get back in our home. We are were on the local WCTI Channel 12 News https://wcti12.com/news/local/family-spends-third-christmas-displaced-by-hurricane-florence and the Jacksonville North Carolina Daily News if you want to look us up. We are trying to get supplies so we can get back in our home before it starts getting really cold. Is there any way just this once you can share this and ask for folks to pass it along? Currently, we are about 75% complete. We are putting in insulation as we speak. My studio is also being repaired. $45 gets one bundle of insulation which covers about 5-10 bays (the spaces in the wall between the studs). Each time we get a little bit more we complete another wall. $10 adds up. Anything you can contribute will help. Thank you so much for your support. Share this link gf.me/u/vyhp8r
