And please keep in your hearts and minds one simple fact: PRIDE was mainly initiated by a group of fed-up trans women of color at the infamous June 1969 Stonewall riots. LET'S NEVER FORGET THE WHO, WHAT, WHY & HOW OF IT'S CREATION:

1. PRIDE is the promotion of the self-affirmation, dignity, equality and increased visibility of the LGBTQ+ community.

2. Its purpose should bolster the LGBTQ+ rights movement, inspiring people who are now "closeted" a future in which to live without the threat of violence for simply being themselves.

Let's take the initiative to Be Kind(er) to Each Other! Let's be inspired to our best transitions while encouraging each other to success! LET'S LIVE OUR BEST LIVES AND THRIVE!

Happy Trans Day of Visibility!

TDOV was created by Rachel Crandel, a transgender advocate and the executive director and co-founder of Transgender Michigan, in 2010 because of the "overwhelming" amount of media stories involving violence against transgender people.

"She hoped to create a day where people could celebrate the lives of transgender people, while still acknowledging that due to discrimination, not every trans person can or wants to be visible."

It is also Easter Sunday, which doesn't have a set date but follows the lunar cycle and falls the 1st Sunday after the first full moon of the spring equinox. This year, TDOV coincides with Easter and therefore some of your social media feeds are likely drowning in faux-Christian transphobes screaming "Stop stilling our holiday!" or some other foolishness. Try not to hear that, instead know that you are loved and appreciated and have a community to celebrate you as you live your best life. Enjoy the day everybody!

PSA: Voting against Trump and his cronies may be the most patriotic thing you ever do for your community! And make no mistake about it, while Trump may not be on the ballot (thank the Gods and Goddesses for small favors...), his gaggle of election denying lunatics ARE!

And as an LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY -- if we haven't done so yet -- we need to show up in droves and !

Our lives matter. One most egregious party has actively enacted major policy in an effort to erase us, attacking trans* youth noless. The contrast is stark folks and along with a woman or trans* masc's bodily autonomy having been stripped away by an activist court, it's been hinted at that marriage equality is next. Let your votes tell them HELL NO ==> !

BREAKING: Cuba just voted to legalise same-sex marriage and adoption for q***r couples: ‘Love wins!’

Millions of Cubans turned out to vote for or against a major overhaul of the island country’s over four-decade-old family code. The package included the historic step of legalising same-sex marriage, allowing LGBTQ+ couples to adopt children and other progressive measures.

Campaigners said preliminary results indicated that the LGBTQ+ friendly package will be approved after millions voted in favour of the referendum on Sunday (25 September).

Cuban minister of foreign affairs Bruno Rodríguez also welcomed approval of the new family code and measures legalising same-sex marriage, saying the country is now a “better” place” with “more rights”.

“Cuba has a new family code,” Rodríguez wrote. “Code Yes was the majority vote. Our people opted for a revolutionary, uplifting law that drives us to achieve social justice for which we work every day.”

He continued: “Today we are a better country, with more rights.”

Only 33 per cent of voters said they did not approve of the new family code, which contains more than 400 articles.
