Philippians Place is dedicated to providing financial, spiritual, and life skills education to increase independence and sustain success to those who are facing homelessness. We have a Resource & Earnings Program for those in need and a Resale Store.
Philippians Place is a faith based non-profit organization that provides assistance while building self sufficiency and esteem through our programs. We use an earnings program to prevent homelessness in our community. Philippians Place assists people in need by providing them the opportunity to earn assistance by volunteering to complete projects or make crafts, or by participating in life skill classes or Bible studies. They then can utilize their earnings to purchase furniture, household items, and/or non-food products. We also provide these opportunities to people in need of financial assistance to prevent utility shut-off and/or an eviction.
Philippians Place is a brand new non-profit committed to providing apartment style transitional living for those in our community experiencing homelessness
Mission: Philippians Place is dedicated to providing supportive services and housing assistance to individuals and/or families who are homeless or facing homelessness.

From Bible App Plan: Leadership in Crises by Vance K. Jackson
When you let go and let God lead your life, you have to stand firm in Him. When times get hard and you're not sure what the future holds, then you just hold on tight to Him. Keep a tight grip on that plow God has given you and point it to Him; He will provide and continue to use you in these hard times to fulfill His plan.
This is one of the silver linings of the COVID-19 shut down; extra time meant planning ahead and practicing social distancing in our community garden. Thanks Pat, Michael, & Lenize for all your hard work! We are looking forward to more volunteers getting their hands dirty!
This Saturday's Yard Sale has been postponed until the following weekend: Saturday, June 6 from 8am-12pm. Mark your calendars!!
Philippians Place is closed Monday in honor of Memorial Day.
Have a beautiful blessed day! ❤
Volunteer Orientation Coming Soon!
"Let His Word steer your course. Don't lose hope. Don't lose focus. Let His Peace shield you in times of the storm. Don't magnify the weight of the problem more than you treasure, honor, and value God. Magnify God's Word in every aspect of your life. Don't let the magnitude of the moment derail your faith."

5/15 UPDATE for this post: Please pray for 2 of our friends: for the first that doors will open so he can move out of his tent in the woods, and for the second that he will not lose his place and become homeless. Pray that God will guide us to the opened doors to help them and that we will find His people in our path to make things happen.
5/15: #1 moved into his apartment and still works 2 jobs. We take him next week to get his driver's license; please pray he passes this so he can be blessed with a car that was donated to him so he doesn't have to ride his bike in the dark all the way across town for one of his jobs.
#2 finally received an evaluation yesterday for services and we should know something next week as to what services he will receive and when he will move out of hotel into his own place. Please pray for a quick & smooth process and that a place will be available. To be honest, this has been an extremely long and frustrating process. Somebody dropped the ball and this guy fell through the cracks--it should have never happened. Thank you for your prayers!!
Five years ago our fearless board leader was doing some serious strategizing for our future! God knew exactly what He was doing when He made this guy right here, Michael Ferraro, our first Board Chair! Thanks, Michael, for leading us, building a strong foundation, and keeping Lenize's feet planted and eyes forward!
Now, five years later, we are blessed to have his amazing wife, Beth, to be our fearless leader! We are praying that she can keep Lenize's feet planted and eyes forward just like you did! 😆
Our God is an Awesome God!
Today was a great day!

We are so grateful for those who have already been donating to us during this shut-down. We're not going to lie--things are tough right now; our Resale Store supported us by paying most of our bills, so with it being closed for this long--it is hard. As a nonprofit, what we get goes right back into the community and keeps our doors open so we can serve others. We know there are many businesses out there struggling right now, and nonprofits are no different. We need nonprofits in our community to serve all the different needs. If you are blessed and financially stable, now's the time to give to your favorite nonprofit. Many of us are expanding our services to help in this crises, so be the hands and feet of Jesus and give--every penny counts! If you're interested in helping those who are homeless or those facing homelessness, we would love to partner with you!
Thank you for your prayers and support!

"God isn't going to say, "Well planned, good and faithful servant." He won't say well thought, well said, or well strategized either. There is one commendation: "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Remember this prayer request from a week ago?
"Please pray for 2 of our friends: for the first that doors will open so he can move out of his tent in the woods, and for the second that he will not lose his place and become homeless. Pray that God will guide us to the opened doors to help them and that we will find His people in our path to make things happen.
Well, it took a little time but our young friend has moved out of his tent and into his own apartment! Woot! Woot! This has definitely been a group effort and this couldn't have happened without the assistance of Adam, Victory Baptist friends, Anna at Onslow Community Outreach, and all of you who have been praying for him! Thanks friends! What a fabulous way to end the week! Please pray that he will feel God's presence in his home and that God will continue to put His people in his path. Thanks! ❤❤
This lawn mower was donated to us a couple years back and it's been a blessing since we have lots to mow. Well, the wheel on the ol' girl is wobbly so something is obviously not right. Do any of our friends out there know how to fix this? Obviously as a nonprofit and with this COVID-19 temporarily closing the door of our store, funds are tight. I'd rather spend funds on clients than on a lawn mower. If someone can donate the time to fix it we will buy the parts.
We sure do miss seeing and spending time with our friends and having our classes! We wish we could do zoom meetings with them, but when they don't have access to wifi, a computer or phone, or even electricity, that makes things a little difficult. We've adapted during this time; we're taking hygeine, cleaning, and paper products to our friends because they can't afford it and we're also taking food to them because they can't get to these food distribution places. We're still trying to get our friends who are homeless off the streets, and in the meantime, getting them what they need to survive in the elements.
Continue to pray for us as we adapt and continue to serve. Please pray that God helps us navigate through these unusual times. Pray for our current clients and those who God leads to us.
As a small nonprofit, this is scary times, but we are still doing our part and coming alongside those in need. We know God is with us, protecting us, and leading us in all that we do. We still see His blessings and miracles in the midst of all this uncertainty and hard times.
"THANK YOU!" to all our friends who are praying for us, providing inkind donations and financial support! You keep us encouraged and motivated to keep moving forward and literally keep our doors open during this time! We love you all and appreciate your love, encouragement, and support! We couldn't do this without God at the wheel and our friends beside us! Thank You!
Truth! Thank you for continuing to pray for us and our clients! God is moving mountains, moving hearts & people, and blessing us and our clients beyond measure! Thank You Jesus! And Thank You Friends!!

It is absolutely amazing to see God at work during this difficult time! Things have not been going as planned, but it is okay, because we are seeing God in the silver linings amongst the heartache, despair, frustrations, and confusion. God is working behind the scenes; He is working before us and making our paths straight! Are you seeing the silver linings of God's blessings too? What are all the positives that are coming out of this COVID-19 situation? If you do not see any, then "be still", let go, seek Him and He will show you!

Okay friends, please keep a new friend in your prayers today as he travels back home. Heavenly Father, we ask that you protect Michael as he travels. Give him peace. May he feel your Holy presence and loving arms as his new life begins. We pray that he will seek you in all situations and that he will follow you on this new path. Thanks for bringing us together and thank you for our amazing friends who always come together to assist when needed. Amen!!
