Your teacher @JamieBrowning aka Michele Browning is on Facebook posting racist remarks regarding the new Gerber baby. The baby is a beautiful baby of color however your teachers racist remarks and thoughts are obvious and this is the kind of teacher who is in contact with your students?
COPIED FROM CAROL JAMISON BUT PLEASE HEAR MY REQUEST: I've just received word that the Board of Education is voting tomorrow evening regarding the Superintendent’s proposal for Onslow County High School Graduation. The Superintendent has felt it best to have graduation ceremonies to be held virtually. While I understand, appreciate and respect the nature of his concerns I must admit I’m quite shocked by this decision. I strongly feel our Seniors could have a graduation later in the summer while observing the Governor’s Phases for reopening our state. Many colleges/universities are doing the same. I respectfully request our Board of Education to consider postponing graduation before making the decision to go virtual. Our children deserve this opportunity to walk that stage with their peers if at all possible. They didn’t know March 13 would be the last day they would walk the halls of their school or see their friends and teachers. Please don’t let this be taken from them too. Have them wear masks and gloves but let them graduate on stage surrounded by their fellow classmates and parents. It may not be exactly as they, or any of us, have imagined but at least they will have an opportunity to look forward to this. The final decision will be made tomorrow evening. The time to act is now to have our voices heard. ******Please note ****** I would like to add that I’m beyond grateful and appreciative of our school faculty and teachers. They have worked hard to make the impossible possible. This is all new to them as well. This post is not to discredit their hard work and efforts as I know this hurts their hearts as well. This post is merely to bring this to your attention and ask that, if you feel so inclined, to reach out to our Board of Education asking them to respectfully postpone graduation until a later date this summer. #letthemwalk
I know Preschool applications are being done online but is there a new plan for kindergarten registration? The April registration dates were cancelled and now that schools will remain closed until the end of the school year, I was wondering if there will be information available soon regarding kindergarten registration for next school year?
Does anyone know if they are continuing the breakfast and lunches during this stay at home order??
Is Onslow County going to give any information about this?
Please pass this along - the lunch program is wonderful! Families who are struggling with new job loss are truly benefiting from this. Please don’t stop sharing meals and smiles. It’s a real pick me up for many!!
