STARTING SALARY RANGE: The starting salary range for the position begins at $5,400 per month; however, actual starting salary commensurate with
applicable education and experience.

DESCRIPTION: The Human Resource Analyst is a professional administrative staff position responsible for supporting and executing the duties of the House Administration Division in carrying out a wide range of human resources functions for the Missouri House of Representatives. This nonpartisan, full-time position plays a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of HR services across the organization and is eligible for Missouri state employee benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Human Resource Analyst provides comprehensive support to House members and staff across a wide range of human resources functions, including payroll processing, timekeeping, benefits administration, new employee orientation, and interpretation of employment laws and policies. This role is also responsible for maintaining accurate employee records in both electronic and paper formats, as well as supporting overall employee relations. This position requires a high level of accountability, accuracy, and attention to detail, along with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates should have a strong understanding of human resources principles and practices, along with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights. This role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. The ideal candidate will establish and maintain effective working relationships while handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as excellent customer service abilities. Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities may include analyzing workforce data, serving as backup for payroll processing, assisting with recruitment and retention strategies, managing and maintaining job postings and descriptions, supporting compliance efforts, and generating HR reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel is required. Familiarity with the State SAM II HR system and MOVERS is preferred.

Donations from House members were recently taken to the nursery at the state women's prison at Vandalia. Representative Renee Reuter organized the drive, and got to visit the facility and learn how it's helping incarcerated mothers and their babies bond and thrive.
