The very basis of libertarianism. Other issues may be negotiable, but these core beliefs cannot be violated.
"Don't hurt people and don't take their stuff" is a simple yet effective phrase coined by Matt Kibbe to describe libertarianism.
Most people agree with that statement because it's common decency--until government enters the picture.
Taking your tax dollars to fund waste, fraud, special interests, and endless spending, the "don't take their stuff" part quickly gets thrown out the window.
And what about "don't hurt people"?
What do we call wars that cost countless lives? What do we call regulations that protect the politically connected while crushing small businesses? What do we call policies that divide communities and leave people dependent on the very institutions that failed them?
Why does decency become optional when someone takes public office?
