National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

April 10-16 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, and we want to take this opportunity to thank our dispatchers for their dedication and service.

Dispatchers are the first point of contact for people in need, and they play a vital role in keeping our community safe. They are responsible for answering 911 calls, dispatching police, fire, and EMS personnel, and providing critical information to first responders.

Dispatchers work long hours, often in stressful situations, and they deserve our gratitude and respect. We are proud to have them as part of our team, and we thank them for their service.

Fort Meade Police Department would like to introduce Detective Branimir Safar. Detective Safar has been given the additional duties as the Community Policing liaison for the Directorate of Emergency Services. Detective Safar with his additional duty is the liaison between the Fort Meade Community and the Fort Meade Police Department, to assist and coordinate community events, such as the boy scout visiting the police station. This is designed to enhance the capabilities of the department and act as a conduit for the relationship. While also building trust with the community and organizations on the installation. While also providing and additional resource to the Fort Meade Community to which they can be employed to share and gather information that could assist with law enforcement efforts. For this reason, Detective Safar has been embedded into the community, by having a Community Policing office at 4998 2nd Corp. Boulevard the Potomac Place Community Center. Detective Safar primary hour of work will be Monday – Thursday 1200 – 1800.
