As we continue the Meet the Open Space Advisory Board series, we are excited to highlight Danadee Miller-Boyle, board secretary, this month!

"I am proud to be a part of the Carbon County Open Space Board serving as Secretary. I am a farmer’s daughter and part owner of a century plus preserved farm named "Fairyland Farms" in Franklin Township, Lehighton, PA. Living and working on the family farm has given me a true appreciation as to why it is important to save the farmland, forests, open space and protect the water resources in the county.

I deeply care about the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe and the beauty of the total landscape in the county. I am a retired USDA/Farm Service Agency Executive Director. I served Carbon, Monroe, Luzerne, Lehigh, Northampton, Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties administering the federal farm programs for over 35 years. I believe it is so important to protect and preserve our farmland, open space and natural resources not only for today, but for the future tomorrow and many generations to come.

I want everyone to try to continue to be good stewards of the land in Carbon County. I want to try to continue to help make that difference!"

We thank you, Danadee, for being a great secretary to the board!
