Message from Educational Testing Service:
Despite the continued impacts from the global pandemic, we’ve been busy at ETS. We just launched additional titles for the Praxis® tests at home, exceeding 100,000 at home registrations and 50,000 completed at home tests, and opened registration for the upcoming testing year. You can find all the latest information below.
PRAXIS TESTS AT HOME — EXPANDED
On July 20, we opened registration for 27 additional tests that will be available for testing on August 1 (12 titles) and September 1 (15 titles). With this launch, there will be 70+ total Praxis tests available as part of the at home solution, representing approximately 80% of test volume. Please visit our website for an up-to-date list of available tests. We are very proud of the at home solution and excited by its ability to allow access to the teaching profession for prospective educators during COVID-19.
Please note the following tips and best practices your candidates should be aware of when taking Praxis tests at home:
• Candidates should add their state licensure agency or relevant association as a score recipient, as there is no “Automatic Score Reporting” for at home tests
• Candidates can add score recipients for free until three days after testing by contacting Praxis Customer Service
• Confirm equipment and environment requirements before registering
• Registration is a two-step process, starting with the test taker’s ETS account, then through their ProctorU® account
• Changing a date and/or time of an at home test can be done through the candidate’s ProctorU account
• Cancelling an at home test is done through Praxis Customer Service

We’ve created a new video to support the test taker when getting started with at home testing. The video provides a preview of the entire testing from home process.
COVID-19 RESPONSE
Test center availability remains fluid depending on individual state and local requirements. Centers that are open do have limited capacity due to social distancing and safety guidelines. For more information about test center availability, visit our website.
TEST AVAILABILITY INCREASED
ETS is eliminating testing windows for all of our tests — except for some with very low volumes — in an effort to give candidates more opportunities to test. Registration for these tests is now open with availability each month. Tests may have a different score reporting date, so please refer to our website for test dates and score reporting times. Please note: Score reporting for at home testing differs from in-person test center score reporting.
Because of security concerns resulting from the increase in test availability, the time between retakes will increase from 21 days to 35 days starting on August 16, 2020.
PRIMARY LANGUAGE NOT ENGLISH (PLNE) PROCESS IMPROVED
In response to concerns raised by states and educator preparation programs about the complexity and lengthiness of the PLNE application, we have revised the PLNE Accommodation Request process to include an email submission option. The PLNE webpage has been updated to reflect the changes.
PRAXIS CATEGORY SCORE RETENTION INCREASED
Praxis Category Scores retention will be increased from two to five years. Main scores will continue to be retained for 10 years.
