Today we remember Police Chief Fred Pfeister of the Cresson Borough Police Department.

Chief Pfeister was killed in the line of duty on June 8, 1996 when he was struck by a drunk driver during the early morning hours as he neared the end of his patrol shift.

The driver was a juvenile who was driving under the influence.

We honor his service, sacrifice, and memory. We stand with our brothers and sisters at the Cresson Borough Police Department.

🍩🚓 Happy National Donut Day from the Geistown Police Department! 🚓🍩

We want to remind everyone that any unattended donuts found in the Borough today may be collected as evidence.

Glazed, powdered, jelly-filled, and chocolate-covered items will be handled with extreme care by trained professionals.

Some evidence may need to be tested more than once. For accuracy, of course.

Stay safe, Geistown, and donut break the law! 🍩😄

Happy Bike to Work Day.

The Geistown Borough Police Department fully supports healthy choices, fresh air, and saving money on gas.

We do not, however, recommend treating the roundabout like the final stage of a professional cycling race.

Please ride safely, wear a helmet, watch for traffic, and remember:

Tour de Geistown is not an officially sanctioned event.

Happy International Nurses Day.

Today we recognize the nurses who can start an IV, calm a family, find the missing paperwork, translate doctor handwriting, locate the good snacks, and still somehow know which officer is only there because WebMD scared him.

From all of us at the Geistown Borough Police Department, thank you for the work you do, the patience you show, and the care you provide every day.

We appreciate you, even if we are still not sure how you survive a 12-hour shift on coffee, crackers, and sheer attitude.

Today we remember Lieutenant Eric Alan Eslary of the Ligonier Township Police Department and Chief of Police Herman DeWayne Justus of the West Taylor Township Police Department.

Both officers were killed in the line of duty on May 5, exactly 25 years apart.

Chief Justus was killed on May 5, 1990, in an automobile accident while involved in a vehicle pursuit. His patrol car skidded on wet pavement while rounding a curve and struck a brick wall.

Lieutenant Eslary was killed on May 5, 2015, in a automobile accident on Route 30 near Clark Hollow Road when his patrol SUV was struck head-on by a van traveling the wrong way.

We honor their service, their sacrifice, and their memory.
