Will County's Book Reuse and Recycling Event returns Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31, 2026! Residents are invited to bring hard and soft cover books to share or recycle between 9 AM and 4 PM each day at the Pilcher Park Nature Center (2501 Highland Park Drive in Joliet). Everyone is welcome to browse and take home donated books as well. This event is free and a great place to find children's books and many more!

Got books you’re ready to part with? Now’s the perfect time to clear your shelves and support a great cause! The Friends of the Shorewood-Troy Library will be collecting gently used or new books on Saturday, February 21, from 9am–noon. Please bring donations downstairs to the large meeting room. Donations of any size are welcome. Please note: no encyclopedias, dictionaries, textbooks, or yearbooks.
