Two working structure fires occurring approximately one hour apart in Lebanon County required mutual aid assistance from Northern Lebanon Fire & Emergency Services.

Tower 57 and Rescue 57 responded and operated on Box 58-01, while Tanker 57 responded to assist on Box 32-02.

While crews were committed to these incidents, personnel staffed Engine 57-10 and remained available within the first-due area.

With several area tankers committed to the 32-02 incident, North End Fire Company, Pine Grove Tanker 58-35 was requested to transfer to NLFES Station 57-10.

After a recent act of vandalism, NLFES was asked to assist Jonestown Borough in fixing the halyard at the J1 Field. NLFES was more than happy to assist and get the flag restored prior to Memorial Day.

We have reached wildfire season as occurrences are the highest during March, April, and May.

There are several reasons for this: the temperature starts to increase, relative humidity is lower, wind speeds tend to increase, and forest fuels are cured from winter dormancy.

Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources provides updates daily on their website for fire danger.

**Spring Forward, Check Your Smoke Alarms**

Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend, and as you set your clocks forward one hour, NLFES encourages you to take a few extra minutes to check your smoke alarms, too.

When you change your clocks, remember to:
-Test your smoke alarms
-Replace the batteries if needed
-Make sure your smoke alarms are less than 10 years old

A working smoke alarm can double your chances of escaping a fire safely. That small step today can make a life saving difference tomorrow.

SANTA! It's hard to believe, but Santa is making his way to Jonestown already! Join us Tuesday December 2, 2025 at our Jonestown Fire House located at 107 South King Street at 6:30pm to visit with Santa! Weather permitting he will travel around town before coming to the firehouse. Please remember, Santa can't pass every house in town, so if you want to see him come over to the firehouse, we will have sweet treats and hot chocolate and a special gift for every child. Cheers!
