Notice of Estimated Tax letters are being distributed this week. Below is an informational backer on how to understand them.

* We encourage taxpayers to attend the budget hearings to express opinions and concerns to the governing bodies. That is why this notice was created in legislature, to give taxpayers the opportunity to speak and give input to the governing bodies. Please note the time, date and location of those budget hearings on the bottom of your notice.*

The canvass board met this morning to finalize the Election Results from the August 2026 Primary Election. The Board of County Commissioners have certified the results and the official results can be found here!

Some offices are available by appointment before and/or after hours - see individual department pages for operating hours and contact information.

Yesterday, the election audit board performed an audit of the August Primary 2026 Election and found no discrepancies.
A post-election audit shall take place after each election. The precincts to be audited are randomly selected by each county elections office.
The audit shall be performed manually by the counties and shall review all paper ballots selected to ensure the hand vote count is identical to the vote count from the tabulators.
The audit shall be performed by a sworn election board consisting of bipartisan trained board members.

UPDATE:
As of 5:07pm we have had 2,028 voters today. Last push from 5:00-7:00pm!! Get out and VOTE Geary County! (numbers do not include advance in person or mail ballots)
