JPD is mourning the loss of Police Detective Daniel Darbonne who died unexpectedly at his home last week. You may have known him as a coach, as a boxer, as a leader in his faith community, as Tanya’s husband or as the father to their five sons.
Before coming to JPD in 2015, Daniel was in the Air Force, worked at the New Orleans Police Department, Loyola Campus Police, Gretna Police Department and with the U.S. Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Division. Over his career, he was a patrol officer, K-9 handler, field training officer, SWAT team member and a detective. He earned many awards and accommodations throughout his law enforcement career.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time. He will be missed tremendously.
