I’m excited for BBQ Days. I’m sure many of you are as well. I hope you all enjoy tomorrow’s activities, with your friends and family.

Be safe and use this time to reflect on the great community we have.

The folks who are involved with the planning, participation in the parade, vendors, and even spectators is what makes this event special. None of it would be possible without the help of everyone.

Be sure to check out the parade and all the vendors that will be present tomorrow! See you all there 🙏🏼

It would be beneficial for Kamiah to have a leadership group for local teens. It would give young people a voice in local government, help them build leadership skills, and to build a sense of community.

I know we have the Upriver Youth Leadership Council, and they do a great job in respects to their own initiative.

However, I think something in correlation to our local government would be not only wise to establish. Also, It would be very important for the advancement of our city. The youth need to be educated in sustaining a prosperous community through education, integrity, proper governance, and other government policies and knowledge. We must educate those who will lead the way for the future. Every generation is important, but we must know that our kids and young ones are the next up.

We must equip them with proper knowledge, trades, friendliness but not to the extent of people pleasing, and responsibility.

The whole statement of “Our votes don’t matter” is not only untrue, it’s what’s causing those in charge to run things for ever without checks and balances.

If there was ever an important election, it starts at local. And if there ever was an important teaching, it starts at home. We must teach the youth to learn and lead. As well as to remain humble and listen to their constituents. Trial and error is how to make progress. Error and Error is how you stay complacent. It’s time to move forward.

God Bless and feel free to voice your thoughts below. Also, these are rough drafts keep in mind. Being too critical not only keeps us in the same place, it also shows that we want to remain complacent because “It’s not possible”

I stand for if there is a will, there’s a way. So if we are willing, then there is a chance we can pave a way.

Be sure to show up! We need more people to come to these and pay attention. It doesn’t only keep We The People informed, it allows for us to have a better understanding overall. We need to stay educated on matters and know what and where our money is being used for and going towards. City council meetings are every second and fourth Wednesday.

My biggest motivation with this page is to promote prosperity and productivity in this community. When we establish transparency and accountability in our own city, it will branch outwards to nearby communities. We are responsible for holding our elected officials accountable.

The Government should always work for us, not the other way around. That’s how the founding fathers intended it to be.

While local government is non-partisan in its elections, we must truly dig deeper into knowing individuals based on their intentions and visible actions. We need to be centered on truth and integrity. This is just the start of what our great city will become. But first, we must band together and unite under one cause, that being the well being and progress of Kamiah.

While the garbage trucks may be the ones you see on the road, our office team members are the ladies who keep them moving. From helping customers to handling paperwork, and all the behind-the-scenes details, they keep the wheels turning every day.
They may not ride on the truck, but they're a big part of what keeps our garbage truck team running smoothly. Thank you, ladies, for all you do—we appreciate you! 🚛💙

I personally believe in clean slate operations. I know sometimes, there are good individuals on a poor team. However, we live in a small town and if you can’t w**d out the wrongdoers or sneaky people in politics, you are either blind to it or in on it. Whether there’s individuals on the board now from prior councils or not, we have to stop voting people in who didn’t do anything to prevent the wrongdoing in times past. Why didn’t anyone call the former Mayor out when she was committing wrong? I think this city needs a new clerk, new attorney, and we need to fill that vacant city council seat. That’s where I’m at with it.

Name something that we can do better as a community?

What are some ways to bring about unity, friendliness, and community prosperity?

For me one thing that would be helpful is to support local! Check out the local Long Horn Thrift Store, as well as Loving Hands. Buy a coffee from the many places in town. Spend your money at the Saturday Farmers Market on Highway 12 at the Long Camp.

Talk to your neighbors and spread kindness. Help a community member in need by donating food or even a hand with yard work. These are how we get our town on track for success. Not saying we aren’t a friendly helpful town, but I do believe we can do much more 🙏🏼❤️
