Please read entire post. Safety instructions for Tour de Platte tomorrow!!
Reminder: the long route has been cancelled. We are still offering the short and intermediate routes. If you signed up for the long route please feel free to join us for the intermediate tomorrow!!
The start time is 8 a.m. We will stagger take off times, breaking everyone into smaller groups. We will have everyone out on the trails by 8:15 at the latest. Please remember that this is a ride, not a race. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Each wave will have its own starting spot which will be marked by an orange cone and sign.
Check In: Riverside City Hall, 2990 NW Vivion Road, Riverside, MO 64150 City of Riverside, Missouri Government
If you were one of the first 150 signups and have not gotten your t-shirt, we will have them available at the beginning of the ride. If you did not sign up for a shirt but would like one, please check back after the ride as we may have extras.
The Route:Will be marked by large yellow Bike Ride signs that have directional arrows. You will be on the Line Creek Trail for 90% of your ride.
Please use sidewalks and shoulders where possible, especially when leaving Riverside City Hall. Also please use all pedestrian crosswalks in busy areas. The last thing we want to see is someone injured during this bike ride. While on trails, please avoid pack riding. The Line Creek Trail will be very busy on this Saturday morning, so please take it slow and watch for runners and walkers. Please be courteous to all trail users, and treat them the way you would want to be treated.
With the rain we have gotten this year, the Line Creek Trail will have wet areas that can be very slick. There is also tree debris from trees and potential for mud in areas. We have had people fall in the past because they were going too fast; we ask that you please take it easy on the trail. Remember this is a ride, not a race. Make sure you are careful and aren’t leaving the ride in an ambulance.
Break Stations: Each route will have a break station at the turn around points. The short route break station and FiX IT Station will be at the Gower Trail Head, and is sponsored by Cycle City. The intermediate route will have a break station at Challenger Park.
If you have any questions, please let us know! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning.
