Uncovering West Terrace Park

Uncovering West Terrace Park West Terrace Park is one of the city's oldest parks but it is badly neglected. Come join us in our urban archeology of uncovering the old grand stairs

We have seen other parks in our city transformed by volunteer efforts. Roanoke Park & Cliff Drive to name a few. We must not stop there. West Terrace Park was once a crown jewel of our famed Parks & Boulevards system. Today the towers remain, but the stairs lay to waste. Trash, graffiti, overgrown brush and dirt cover the beautiful stairs. Lets not let this asset crumble! Help us in our on-going e

ffort to clean up this amazing park and uncover the grant stairs. We will be meeting several times over the summer to continue our work. Like this page and check back often for updates! We will take back this park!

Thank You Volunteers!! I was in the West Bottoms and saw the progress you made right away! It’s looking beautiful.

Hello everyone! I know it has been a really long time since I have posted. Sorry to disappear for so long.

Have you driven by the bluffs and looked at the stairs this winter? It is much easier to see the stone without all the foliage.

I hope to organize some more cleanups this spring. We might have to structure them slightly differently to make sure we are masked, distanced and safe. I'd love to get more of the vines cleared away from the rock and more trash taken away.

Stay tuned to the page for more info in the coming weeks!

Cool view of the park before the Highway came in and destroyed it.

Can you see the horseshoe shaped stairs? Those are gone now. They used to be at the bottom of the current stairs we uncovered. Wish we could restore all this some day. 🙁

I hope to get a bit more of this brush removed so you can see more of the stairs! The big wall that Parks painted is in the lower right hand corner of the picture. That is a really long staircase!

Looking great!!

HUGE thank you to all the great volunteers that come out today. We got a lot done and erased the last 2 years of neglect!

Special thanks to Friends Of West Terrace Park for organizing the day and keeping Case Park clean, too!

I want to keep this group active and keep the momentum going on the terraces. Look for an announcement on the next clean up soon! It will be in May or early June.
