Happy Pride Month, Jackson County! 🏳️‍🌈

This month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and recognize the many contributions LGBTQ+ residents make to our neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, and civic life. Pride is a time to honor the history of those who fought for equality, celebrate the progress that has been made, and recommit ourselves to building a community where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and fairness.

Jackson County is strengthened by its diversity, and we are proud to be home to vibrant LGBTQ+ communities across our region. As Pride Month begins, let us continue working together to ensure every resident feels safe, valued, and welcome.

Happy Pride Month!

Summer can be a challenging time for families when school is out and access to regular meals becomes more limited. That's why organizations like NourishKC are stepping up to help ensure children and families in our community have access to nutritious food throughout the summer months.

NourishKC is currently seeking donations of kid-friendly food items, including granola bars, crackers, applesauce cups, fruit cups, juice boxes, shelf-stable milk, easy breakfast items, peanut butter and jelly, and other grab-and-go snacks for children.

If you're able to help, monetary donations can be made through the QR code in the graphic, and physical donations can be coordinated by contacting [email protected].

Every donation, no matter the size, helps support local families and children in need. Thank you to everyone who continues to make a difference in our community.
