Heat Advisory issued July 21 by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX

🔺 WHAT: High temperatures of 100 to 104 degrees and heat index values up to 112 degrees expected.

🔺 WHERE: Areas generally along and east of the Interstate 35
corridor.

🔺 WHEN: From Noon to 8 PM CDT Wednesday.

🔺 IMPACTS: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

As the Cibolo Creek continues to recede, the San Antonio River at Highway 72 is nearing its crest and will soon begin to drop as well.

We want to take a moment to thank our local and state partners for their constant monitoring and communication throughout the event:

PSA: Karnes County Flood Warning
The Karnes County Office of Emergency Management is actively monitoring ongoing flood warnings for the San Antonio River, Cibolo Creek, and surrounding low-lying areas.

⚠️ What to Expect: Rising waters are expected within the next 24-48 hours.
⚠️ Action Required: If you reside or have livestock near the San Antonio River, Cibolo Creek, or floodplains, take precautionary measures and be prepared to relocate to higher ground.
