Good morning! Before you leave for the day — if you haven’t voted yet, please don’t leave your ballot at home!

You can bring it to any of the 28 drop boxes located around Salt Lake County. If you’ve already left home and have forgotten the ballot, you can vote in-person at any of the 30 in-person voting centers. (You can drop off your mail-in ballot at the voting centers, too.) Don’t mail your ballot today — it’s too late and won’t be counted.

I’ll also urge you to vote FOR Salt Lake County’s public safety bond, which will help us address homelessness and make our communities safer while reducing costs over the long-term.

No matter how you cast your ballot, please vote today!

"This bond is a critical investment in our community's well-being," said Mike Mower, senior adviser of community outreach and intergovernmental relations for Gov. Spencer Cox. "This bond will help expand the infrastructure needed to provide more beds and consolidate facilities while investing in mental health services and treatment programs."

Salt Lake County voters will weigh in on a $507 million bond this November, which tackles public safety concerns.

The Deseret News has joined the Tribune in endorsing Salt Lake County's public safety bond. Both editorial boards have recognized that breaking the interwoven cycles of criminality and homelessness will take addressing them at their roots and simultaneously.
