Our Story
Sunrise is building a mass movement of young people to stop climate change and create millions of good-paying jobs in the process. We unite to make climate change an urgent priority across America, end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics, and elect leaders who stand up for the health and wellbeing of all people.
We are fighting for a Green New Deal for our generation and all those who have been and will be most impacted by the climate crisis. We demand bold, transformative action to create jobs, address economic and racial inequality, and begin a just transition to a renewable energy economy that works for everyone. We will not settle for anything less.
We call ourselves Sunrise because we know this dark time in America will come to an end. The sun will rise again. We know that when enough people see the light, the fossil fuel billionaires and bought out politicians can no longer hide in the shadows, and eventually — we will win.
The plan only works if thousands of everyday people (that’s you!) get involved. Join us to make it happen.
