One of our local citizens, the Ramos family, lost their home and everything in it due to a residential fire this week. We have been approached by numerous community members on how they can assist this family.

Those that are interested in donating gift cards, clothing items, blankets, kitchen items, utensils, etc. can drop off items at City Hall and Pinnacle Bank , during business hours.
(Please no not drop off furniture or large items. Contact City Hall and we will put you in touch with the family).

Mr. and Mrs Ramos have an 11 year old daughter who wears a women's size 8 shoe, She loves music and plays several instruments and is in the middle school band. She also loves Science.
Their son is 15 years old, wears a men's size 11 shoe. He is tall and slim, plays sports and likes basketball.
Mr. Ramos wears a size men's 10 shoe, large shirts and 32/34 in pants.
Mrs. Ramos wears a women's size 8 shoe but we do not have clothing sizes for her (a gift card would be perfect for her).

The out pour of local support for this family has been very heartwarming. Thank you to all that have already helped and those that wish to help and support this family.

From the Weather Forecast Office - Fort Worth, TX

Bottom Line:
A light rain/snow mix is likely on Tuesday morning across parts of North Texas, including the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex. Central Texas (including Waco, Killeen, and Temple) will see cold rain.

Overview:
A strong cold front will pass this afternoon and evening, ushering in much cooler temperatures. Widespread rain will overspread the region by late Monday, and continue into Tuesday morning. Temperatures are forecast to become cold enough to allow for a rain/snow mix near and north of a line from roughly Comanche to Dallas to Paris beginning before sunrise Tuesday. Any accumulations would be light (if any at all) and would be confined to elevated surfaces (e.g. bridges/overpasses, roofs) and grassy areas. Travel impacts should be minimal. For those that do receive accumulating snow, most can expect less than half an inch of snow, however, a few isolated locations could receive locally enhanced snowfall up to 1-3 inches in the grass or on elevated surfaces. For Central Texas, temperatures will likely be too warm to support any frozen precipitation. All precipitation should end across the region by late Tuesday afternoon. Event total rainfall accumulations will likely be one-half to one inch.

We are sad to report that this morning we recovered a deceased small brown chihuahua on Old Betsy Rd (2280) near Chisholm Trail Estates. She didn’t have an ID tag and was not microchipped; however, she was wearing a grey sweater. If you know who the owner may be please have them contact us.
Thank you in advance.

From The Weather Forecast Office in Fort Worth

Bottom Line
Strong to severe thunderstorms are still possible across North and Central Texas from late Friday through Saturday morning.

Overview
A cool, wet Thanksgiving is in store for most of North and Central Texas, with periods of showers and isolated thunderstorms expected areawide. A warm front will sweep north through the region Friday afternoon and evening, returning warm, moist air. Aloft, a strong upper-level storm system will be exiting the Southern and Central Rockies.

While there are still uncertainties regarding the instability and forces associated with this system, thunderstorms should develop across the region late Friday and into Friday night. With ample shear in place, some of these storms may become sufficiently organized to present a severe weather threat. Large hail and damaging winds would be the primary threats.

Weather Update
From the Weather Forecast Office in Fort Worth

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across much of North and Central Texas on Friday and Friday night.

A cool, wet Thanksgiving is in store for most of North and Central Texas, with periods of showers and isolated thunderstorms expected areawide. A warm front will sweep north of the Red River Thursday night, ushering warmer and more moisture-laden air northward into the region on Friday.

Aloft, a strong upper-level storm system will be exiting the Southern and Central Rockies. While there are still many uncertainties this far out regarding instability and forcing associated with this system, scattered thunderstorms do appear likely across the region Friday afternoon through Friday night. With ample lower to mid-level shear in place across the area, some of these storms may organize sufficiently to present a severe weather threat. Large hail and damaging wind would be the primary threat, though a low-end tornado risk cannot be ruled out at this time.

It has been brought to our attention that some customers received higher than usual sewer bills this billing cycle. This error seems to only affect those customers who have residential services that live inside Keene city limits.

We have corrected the bill for those that are on auto-draft. Those that have already paid their bill will receive a credit on their next bill. Those that have not paid can ask for a corrected amount and only pay that amount.

Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. For billing questions please call (817)641-3336 ext. 105 or 119 or you may send an email to [email protected].

Councilwoman Schram served on the City of Keene Council for 10 years and also served as Mayor Pro Tem for 3 of those years. Schram chose not to run for re-election so she can spend more time with family. Schram will still serve as a board member on the Economic Business Development Board.
Thank you Cheryl for your passion and dedication to our city!
