🦷💙 More Than Cleanings: It’s Dignity, Comfort, and Health

This week at a Green Bay memory care facility, Hygeia completed free oral health screenings for residents who otherwise face significant barriers to care.

What we found reinforces why this work matters.

Many residents showed signs of gum inflammation and difficulty maintaining oral hygiene, which are common challenges in memory care settings. We also observed broken and badly decayed teeth.

I watched a car pull up to the facility labeled “Wound Care.”
And I thought, we take such good care of the wounds we can see. But during our screenings, so many residents had wounds inside their mouths… inflamed gums, cracked corners, sore tissues, and untreated infections.

Wounds that hurt.
Wounds that affect eating, speaking, and overall health.
Wounds that often go unnoticed.

The mouth is part of the body. And it deserves care too. 💙

This is why lifelong oral health is not optional: it’s foundational to overall wellbeing.
This is why Hygeia exists.

💔 This shouldn’t be happening in our world.

Once a hard-working member of our community, this man is now suffering silently. He’s dealing with tooth pain, severe dry mouth, broken teeth, and painful sores, yet he has nowhere to turn for the care he desperately needs.

For residents in long-term care facilities, oral health is often overlooked, and conditions like this are far too common. Everyone deserves dignity, comfort, and access to essential health care, even when they can’t advocate for themselves.

At Hygeia, we’re committed to changing this. We bring dental care to the doors of those who need it most, but we can’t do it alone. Our elders shouldn’t have to suffer in silence.

Spent the day spreading some oral health gems to seniors at the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Brown County WI Wellness Week. Super excited to be part of this awesome event! NWTC Dental Hygiene students rocked it with great education and life saving screenings!

Molar Mash 2025. What a Night!

What an amazing Halloween night for our first-ever Molar Mash Fundraiser! Thank you to everyone who came out to dance, laugh, and support Hygeia’s mission to bring smiles and oral health care to seniors in our community.

Thank you Shoreline Dental for choosing Hygeia !!!

November is upon us which means its time to to tap our November "Brew Your Own Beer" Business of the Month. This month, it's our friends at Shoreline Dental and they had us brew an English Brown Ale appropriately named "This is Not a Drill"!

The non-profit Shoreline Dental chose was Manitowoc's Hygeia Corp: Preventative Mobile Dentistry . Hygeia is a mobile dental unit bringing compassionate, accessible dental care to seniors to improve their quality of life. We will be donating $.25 for every pint we sell to Hygeia!

We will be holding the tapping TODAY at 1:00pm! See you there!
